A new tool for the coordination of Vilnius management works | Business

From now on, it will be possible to monitor the planning of the capital’s companies and contractors and the coordination of the performed works in the virtual Vilnius DEK system created by the ID Vilnius company.

Adomas Bužinskas, director of the administration of the Vilnius city municipality, says that the introduction of this tool was a much-awaited step in order to digitize and manage the infrastructural projects being developed in the city. “The Vilnius DEK system is another tool that will help not only to plan work more efficiently, but also to clearly understand what is happening in the city in real time. This system will significantly improve the inter-institutional communication of companies – specialists will be able to easily share data, leave comments, and promptly respond to changes. In this way, the risk of misunderstandings will be reduced and it will be ensured that the development of the city goes more smoothly”, asserted A. Bužinskas.

This internal urban planning system is already being used by the Infrastructure, Urban Planning and Architecture, Urban Environment Departments of the Vilnius City Municipality Administration, the companies “Vilnius Lighting”, “Vilniaus Vandenys”, “GRINDA”, “Vilnius City Parks”, “Vilniaus šilumos tinklai”, ” Transportation services”, “Vilnius development company”.

Currently, the Vilnius DEK system, operating on the basis of a virtual map, contains over 5,000 objects planned in the city, and this list is expected to be constantly expanded. Among the objects are streets with continuous asphalting, sidewalks, bicycle paths, stairs, streets with quiet traffic, gravel roads, heating, lighting, electricity and water supply networks.

Ilja Karužis, head of the Infrastructure Department of Vilnius City Municipality, says that this new city project management tool will help reduce the likelihood of errors and ensure more efficient use of city funds.

“The Vilnius DEK system is a significant step in the management of Vilnius city infrastructure. It enables more efficient planning and coordination of city projects, ensuring that different works are carried out more smoothly and without duplication of work. The system allows for better communication between municipal companies, provides access to real-time data, which allows you to see how projects are progressing and quickly react to possible changes. Its ability to integrate both surface and underground infrastructure plans helps ensure that all information is in one place and easily accessible,” said I. Karužis.

Underground and surface infrastructure has been restored

The Vilnius DEK system makes it possible to see the progress of projects in real time. The company “ID Vilnius” will take care of the support of the system, and the specialists of the relevant municipal companies will be responsible for uploading the updated data.

In the system, work planning is presented in the form of a Gantt chart. The virtual map also allows facility owners to view intersections with other companies’ plans. Here you can leave comments for colleagues from other Vilnius companies, subscribe to object changes, receive e-mails. mail notifications about intersection changes, attribute changes.

Vilnius DEK currently provides information on underground and above-ground infrastructure projects. The system shows not only the planned, implemented, but also the existing engineering networks of the city. In it, you can see the warranty information of the projects, the registered defects and the tracking of their solutions. The general statistics of the city’s projects are also presented in the light boards. In the near future, it is planned to continue supporting the Vilnius DEK platform, fill in project data, include smaller objects, expand the user base and improve functionality based on feedback. In the future, it is planned to provide partial access to this platform to the public.
