It’s already mid-season in the NFL, which means there are only six or seven weeks until the playoffs in your fantasy football pool.

This also means that nothing is decided yet and that you can still find players via waivers.

Teams on leave: Pittsburgh Steelers and San Francisco 49ers

Here are seven players to target now for the ninth week of activities in the Goodell circuit:

-Jameis Winston, quarterback (available in 94% of Yahoo! leagues)

The Browns have lost the services of Deshaun Watson for a long time and that seems like a good thing. With Winston as the starter, the Cleveland club caused THE surprise of the eighth week by beating the Ravens. The pivot totaled more than 300 yards and three passing touchdowns against one of the best defenses in the NFL.

-Cedric Tillman, wide receiver (available in 81% of Yahoo! leagues)

Let’s stick with the Browns for the next suggestion. With the departure of Amari Cooper, it is Tillman who finds himself with a heavier workload. The second-year player has been targeted 12 times and nine times in his last two outings.

-Jalen McMillan, wide receiver (available in 51% of Yahoo! leagues)

With Mike Evans and Chris Godwin sidelined for the Buccaneers, McMillan becomes Baker Mayfield’s top target. The rookie was not impressive against the Falcons, catching four of seven passes thrown his way for 35 yards. However, he will have several opportunities to recover in the coming weeks.

-Tyler Lockett, wide receiver (available in 32% of Yahoo! leagues)

The veteran has been disappointing so far this season. He works in an attack focused on aerial play, but he must share the ball. Lockett could, however, take advantage of DK Metcalf’s failing health to save his campaign in the coming weeks.

-Isaac Guerendo, running back (available in 92% of Yahoo! leagues)

It’s not easy to find an available running back who will make an impact in your pool this week. Guerendo and the 49ers aren’t playing this week, but jump at the chance if there’s an open spot on your bench. The first-year player did very well when he came in relief of Jordan Mason against the Cowboys on Sunday night. It remains a risk, considering that Christian McCaffrey is aiming for a return for the 10th week of activities.

-Jonathon Brooks, running back (available in 37% of Yahoo! leagues)

The Panthers player has yet to play a game in the NFL. The second-round pick in the last NFL draft is recovering from a serious knee injury. Brooks could return to action soon, although some believe he won’t play in 2024…

-Mike Gesicki, tight end (available in 92% of Yahoo! leagues)

Gesicki took full advantage of Tee Higgins’ absence to showcase himself last Sunday. He’s worth adding to your roster because the Bengals are playing the Raiders’ weak defense this week.
