The high-end caterer Dalloyau, placed in receivership at the beginning of August, will be taken over by its competitor Potel et Chabot, the latter announced in a press release on Tuesday October 29. The offer from Potel and Chabot, which was chosen from those of seven potential buyers by the Paris commercial court, provides “the recovery of all employees and all of its assets, supported by a solid investment plan”according to Potel and Chabot, which belongs to the Accor group.
“The group thus strengthens its position as the leading French player in catering and luxury event gastronomy, recognized for its know-how, its gastronomic offering, and a unique art of service and staging”congratulate Potel and Chabot.
Inventor of the famous opera
Dalloyau, a flagship of luxury pastries founded in 1682 in Versailles – we owe it in particular the creation of the opera, a famous coffee and chocolate cake – was put in difficulty by the crisis linked to Covid-19. At the end of 2020, it was placed in safeguard procedure. The group, which employed 133 employees at the beginning of August for an annual turnover of 8.4 million euros, failed to recover and found itself in receivership at the beginning of August, accompanied by a period six-month observation period.
“We are very happy that our project convinced the court. It is ambitious and promising for a house whose historical know-how which has made its reputation for centuries we wish to once again shine.”welcomes Amir Nahaï, president of Potel et Chabot, in the press release. Its offer was notably preferred to that of the collective catering specialist Elior or the Bertrand group, the leading independent catering group in France.
