Businessman Ričardas Čep talked about a new start-up: he will change centuries-old traditions | Business

“Over time, the memories of the departed, even the dearest people, fade. Until finally all that remains is a dash between the two dates on the tombstone. I realized this painful truth, which is not right, while burying my brother. Between a person’s birth and his death there is a wonderful period of life, which modern technology allows to preserve forever. This is what “Neverlost.lt” is all about,” says R. Čepas, the creator and creator of the startup.

The “Neverlost.lt” platform will allow you to create a digital space – a personal place of memory, where you can conveniently store, easily manage and safely store memories of dear people who have passed away.

It will work on a similar principle as social networks. The created personal memory space will be able to store video and audio recordings, photos and other relevant memories of the deceased. Not only the person who created it, but also family members, friends and other relatives who will be granted such a right will be able to fill in and view the memory location. It will also be possible to choose privacy settings, how much and what you want to show publicly.

“For each place of memory, a QR code will be generated, which relatives can place on the deceased’s headstone, memorial plaque, photo, tree planted in his honor or in another place that is dear to you. By scanning the QR code with a smart device, passers-by will be able to get acquainted with the publicly presented part of the deceased person’s life story, if the relatives decide to share it publicly. The rest of the information will be available only to relatives and friends. We are changing millennial traditions in order to keep memories alive for future generations, and through them to connect the friends, relatives and relatives of the deceased,” says R. Čepas.

There are already similar examples of commemoration of the dead around the world and they are working successfully. Soon, every resident of Lithuania will be able to immortalize a loved one who has passed away and preserve memories of him in a different way.

“Currently, it is possible to register on the platform and be among its first users. We plan that we will be able to offer the opportunity to create places of memory for dear people right before All Hallows’ Eve, so collect material for memories”, – the founder of “Neverlost.lt” reveals his immediate plans.

Residents of the country will be able to use the digital platform and create memory spaces on it for free.

While preparing for the start, R. Čepas also reveals ambitious plans. At the beginning of next year, it is expected to introduce a paid version of “Neverlost.lt”, which will offer users more functionality and will be adapted to artificial intelligence (AI) solutions. The businessman also hopes to introduce the platform to foreign markets next year.

“I am currently financing the development of Neverlost.lt with my own funds, but it has already attracted the attention of several venture capital funds, we are talking and looking for partners who are interested in developing something meaningful. We have a fantastic IT team – once we get up to speed in Lithuania, we plan to expand to other countries. Ukraine and the United States are among the most seriously considered destinations. Due to its universality, our solution is applicable and relevant in many countries”, asserts R. Čepas.

The startup “Neverlost.lt” belongs to the so-called “RootsTech” sector, whose companies are engaged in activities related to historical heritage: from preserving records or creating a genealogical tree to conducting DNA or genealogical research.
