PRESIDENT of the United States (US) Joe Biden emphasized that Israel’s war in the Gaza Strip must end. Why not, the number of deaths in the area has exceeded 43 thousand people.
This refers to data from health authorities in Gaza which states that the confirmed death toll in the region has exceeded 43 thousand and more than 101,000 other people were injured.
“We need a ceasefire. This war must end,” said President Biden on Monday (28/10) local time.
He conveyed this to journalists after casting his initial vote in the 2024 Presidential Election in his home state, Delaware.
Biden further admitted that he would hold a telephone call to follow up on ceasefire efforts.
Mediation efforts led by the US, Egypt and Qatar to reach a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement between Israel and Hamas failed as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu refused to stop the war.
Israel’s war on Gaza has displaced nearly the entire civilian population amid an ongoing blockade, causing severe shortages of food, clean water and medicine.
