An exclusive study carried out by the District for the InfoMoney revealed that more than 8 thousand startups closed their activities in Brazil in the last decade. The survey, which mapped more than 38 thousand startups in Latin America, showed that, between January 2015 and September 2024, 8,258 Brazilian startups stopped operating.

Currently, Brazil has 24 unicorns — startups valued at more than US$1 billion in public or private transactions — companies that have managed to consolidate themselves and integrate into consumers’ daily lives.

Rodolpho Takahashi, CEO of the IAUDIT Group and compliance specialist, points out that the high rate of bankruptcies should raise an alert for companies looking for competitiveness. “Many startups are unable to overcome financial and management challenges. A business consultancy can help identify risks, optimize processes and ensure the sustainability of the business”, says Takahashi. It reinforces the importance of well-founded strategies and specialized professional support to overcome obstacles and promote safe growth.
