The ‘Energy comes from them’ event, held on October 22nd, brought together more than 120 participants in Rio de Janeiro, highlighting the crucial role of women in the energy industry. Promoted by Amcham – American Chamber of Commerce for Brazil, in partnership with Innospec, the event aimed to celebrate female achievements and promote gender diversity in the sector.
The event not only highlighted the main barriers faced by women in this market, but also provided a space for exchanging ideas about how institutions are approaching the topics of technological innovation and energy transition.
The presentation of the panel “Women in Energy Transformation: Challenges and Opportunities” brought to light essential skills for promoting the energy transition, with the aim of providing a space for a dialogue of inclusion and social responsibility. The president of the division Fuel Specialties from Innospec, Vali Jerome, shared his perspectives for the sector, highlighting the importance of diversity in leadership: “With this event we had the opportunity to hear from women who are shaping the future of energy, who faced complex challenges with assertiveness, creativity and determination”.
In addition to Vali Jerome, the panel included the participation of influential leaders such as Michelle Carvalho (Petrobras/REDUC), Anita Baggio (Vibra) and Margareth Carvalho (Infineum), being moderated by presenter and journalist Adriana Colin. Participants shared personal experiences and the challenges they faced in achieving leadership positions, serving as inspiring examples for future generations and highlighting how diversity has generated positive results in companies.
