CTD operations in Punjab, 13 terrorists arrested

Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab foiled a major terrorist plan and arrested 13 terrorists belonging to banned organizations during various operations.

In a statement issued by the spokesman CTD Punjab, it has been stated that 83 secret operations were conducted in different districts of the province to deal with any untoward incident of terrorism, during which 13 terrorists belonging to banned organizations were arrested. Arms, explosives and other prohibited materials were recovered from their possession after being arrested.

The spokesperson said that among the arrested alleged terrorists are Khurshid, Abdul Rasheed, Irfanullah, Luqman Khan, Waheed Khan, Rizwanullah, Muhammad Amir, Sheikh Muhammad, Amir Ismail, Muhammad Rehman, Wajid Ramadan, Ilhamuddin and Muhammad Osama. He is related to banned organizations Tehreek Taliban Pakistan, Daesh, Tehreek Jafaria Pakistan and Lashkar Jhangvi.

According to the spokesman, the terrorists were arrested during intelligence-based operations in Rawalpindi, Attock, Bahawalnagar, Lahore, Jhelum, Sheikhupura and Bahawalpur.

According to CTD, about 5 kg of explosives, IED bombs, detonators, safety fuse wire, Prima cards, pistols and bullets, SMG rifle and 80 bullets, pamphlets of banned organization, stickers were recovered from the possession of the alleged terrorists. , mobile phones and cash were recovered.

The spokesperson said that the terrorists had planned to sabotage the sensitive places and they wanted to target the important installations in the terrorist operation.

The spokesman said that CTD Punjab conducted 625 combing operations this week with the help of local police and security agencies, during which 105 suspects were arrested and 101 FIRs were registered.
