Islamabad High Court orders Imran Khan to be transferred to Adiala Jail

The Islamabad High Court has ordered the transfer of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan from Attock Jail to Adiala Jail. Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Aamir Farooq heard the request of Chairman PTI regarding prison facilities.

During the hearing, Chief Justice Islamabad High Court remarked that Chairman PTI is an under-trial prisoner in the Cipher case and all the under-trial prisoners in Islamabad are in Adiala Jail, why is the under-trial prisoner kept in Attock Jail instead of Adiala? ?

Justice Aamir Farooq said that he was kept in Attock Jail in the Tosha Khana case, that sentence has been suspended, if you transfer Rahim Yar Khan tomorrow, then will you try him from there?

The Chief Justice of Islamabad remarked that according to the law, the undertrial prisoner of Islamabad should be in Adiala Jail, Chairman PTI should be shifted to Adiala Jail.

Justice Amir Farooq said that it was told that AB and C classes have been completed in the jail now.

Imran Khan’s lawyer Barrister Salman Safdar said that now there is a normal and better class in the jail, he is entitled to a better class, on which Justice Amir Farooq said that it is settled that PTI chairman is entitled to a better class. Chairman PTI is a former Prime Minister and an educated person, according to the prison rules he should get what he is entitled to, it should not be that any rights of Chairman PTI are lost.

It should be remembered that Chairman PTI was sentenced to 3 years imprisonment on August 5, 2023 in the Tosha Khana case and he was arrested from Lahore and sent to Attock Jail. In Attock Jail, FIA coded Imran Khan. An arrest was also made in the case.
