PIONEER of the Indonesian Optimist Movement (GIO) Ngasiman Djoyonegoro said that the Red and White Cabinet (KMP) under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto was the embodiment of the character of nationalism, patrioticism and devotion to the Indonesian nation and state.
“Thankfully, currently the situation has changed a lot. President Prabowo with the Red and White Cabinet, I think provides an optimistic perspective in running the government for the next 5 years,” said Ngasiman in his statement received in Jakarta, Sunday (27/10).
Ngasiman appreciated the retreat activities at the Military Academy (Akmil) Magelang, Central Java, which were initiated by President Prabowo for ministers. This is because optimism can be achieved with a spirit of togetherness, dedication and absolute loyalty to the nation and state, as is the goal to be achieved in the agenda.

This activity was also considered by a number of parties to be very important as an effort to unite the steps, hearts and minds of the ranks of the red and white cabinet before working.
“The red and white character is a character who is perceptive (responsive, intelligent), tanggon (tough), trengginas (agile), loyal to the nation and state, not afraid of any pressure, and strong so that there must be a feeling of unity among the ministers who will take care of this country,” he said.
Since its founding 6 years ago, GIO has created momentum to reverse the pessimistic narrative that emerged ahead of the 2019 presidential election. At that time, the narrative that Indonesia would disband in 2030 was in full swing.

“We feel that this narrative will worsen people’s psychology. Therefore, there needs to be a balancing discourse. We then developed the Optimistic Indonesian Movement,” said the young thinker in the fields of intelligence, defense and security.
He further revealed that the basic capital of the nation and state is currently actually strong. Indonesia’s superior human resources (HR) and natural resources (SDA) are also abundant, and the government’s performance in developing development foundations is no less serious. Therefore, existing capital needs to be a basis for strengthening the narrative of optimism among people in society.
According to academic and cultural observer, Okki Tirto, optimism is important for building national culture. “Indonesian culture as a nation is difficult to formulate because of the large number of ethnic groups. However, it can be characterized in three ways, namely the black peci, mutual cooperation, and the Indonesian language,” said Okki.
Leaders and society, according to him, must be able to differentiate between national and state culture. “Indonesian national culture needs to be reformulated as roots and routes based on mutual agreement with the nation’s leaders,” he said.
Okki agrees that the theme of Building Red and White Character for the Success of Golden Indonesia 2045, which was initiated by GIO to commemorate its 6th anniversary, is a form of effort to build a rich cultural perspective within the framework of optimism for the future. (Ant/J-2)
