This Friday, October 25, in the chamber of the Municipal Palace of Valera, the special session dedicated to the community fighters grouped in the Social Fighters movement “Corazón de la Patria” was held in order to commemorate their day.

The session hall was filled with a large number of social fighters from all the parishes of the Valera municipality, in this way the legislative and executive powers of the municipality recognize the social, political and community work of the community leaders.

It is noteworthy that Mayor Angie Quintana accompanied the social activists, and in her speech she highlighted the work of community leaders, recognizing the social work they do in their communities.

We were born in revolution

The keynote speaker for such well-deserved recognition of social leaders was Adán Mendoza, founder of the “Heart of the Homeland” Movement, who outlined in a simple way the beginnings of this movement that today has community spokespersons in each parish of Valera, thanking the great support given by Mayor Angie Quintana, and calling on young people to join the social struggle in their sectors. Emphasizing that “we as a movement were born in revolution and we continue to travel the paths taught and legacies of Commander Chávez, today with President Nicolás Maduro and in Trujillo with Governor Gerardo Márquez.”
