Chelsea’s Strong Showing Against Panathinaikos

Date: 2024-10-24 | Venue: Spiros Louis Olympic Stadium, 18:45

Well folks, Chelsea didn’t just do the job tonight against Panathinaikos; they did it in style, almost as if they were auditioning for a role in the next blockbuster! Mudryk, the magician of the night, was responsible for what can only be described as a ‘very fine effort.’ And yes, I know we don’t usually mix football with fine dining, but I’m feeling cheeky!

Player Ratings

Rating Scale:

  • 0 – General use
  • 1 Lion – Bad
  • 2 Lions – Approved
  • 3 Lions – Good
  • 4 Lions – Very Good
  • 5 Lions – Masterful

Filip Jørgensen – 3 Lions

With the poise of a cat burglar, Jørgensen saved his team from an early goal. It’s like he was saying, “Not on my watch!” But let’s not discuss that corner, eh? We need to keep our dreams alive.

Axel Disasi – 3 Lions

Disasi, or as I like to call him, “the wall,” had a stable performance. He slowed down in the second half, perhaps to let the others catch up! Or maybe he just thought he was on a relaxing Sunday stroll.

Benoit Badiashile – 3 Lions

Badiashile decided to show us something ‘cool’ this time. Forget about concentration lapses; he was like a young Picasso in defense…just a bit more abstract.

Renato Veiga – 2 Lions

Our young Portuguese kept it interesting with a couple of close calls that almost went horribly wrong. He was like a soap opera—moments of drama but no one got hurt in the end!

Marc Cucurella – 3 Lions

Ah, “Cucu Cucurella,” back in action! It seems he’s always cooking up a storm with his aggressive tackles—hopefully, not too spicy for his teammates!

Enzo Fernández – 3 Lions (Subbed off 71’)

Fernández took charge like a seasoned leader. Turned in an outstanding performance, and one has to wonder if the Argentinian is secretly running for Player President!

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – 2 Lions (Subbed off 77’)

Kiernan delivered a mixed bag of goodies, with delightful play interspersed with the occasional mystery box of misses. It’s like he needs to decide whether he’s a striker or a magician!

Pedro Neto – 2 Lions (Subbed off 62’)

He tried, oh how he tried, but bless him, the first half was tough. It’s like he showed up to the wrong party but at least brought a gift in the second half!

João Félix – 3 Lions

Félix floated and flitted like a butterfly in the attacking third but let’s be honest, not every butterfly lands on a flower. Still, two goals? Now that’s blooming impressive!

Mykhailo Mudryk – 4 Lions – Matchens lejon!

Mudryk was on fire! A constant threat and good show from both ends of the pitch. No doubt, our star of the night, turning heads and hearts!

Christopher Nkunku – 2 Lions (Subbed off 61’)

Invisible might not be a fair description, but he could probably improve his magic act. I mean, even Houdini had his miss days!

Marc Guiu – 2 Lions (Subbed on 61’)

A raid down the right flank was exciting, but the rest? Let’s just say his introduction was like a grand fireworks display that fizzled out a bit.

Tyrique George – 3 Lions (Subbed on 62’)

Tyrique came in hot! He’s like one of those new energy drinks—full of promise and high voltage. Almost scored an assist, he’s the one to watch next time!

Cesare Casadei – 2 Lions (Subbed on 71’)

Not quite a top-effort, but then again, he wasn’t handling the last 20 minutes of a thriller. Solid enough, but let’s not ring the bell just yet.

Carney Chukwuemeka – 2 Lions (Subbed on 77’)

He’s competent, almost too competent. But let that end product be more than the disappointment of waiting for your takeaway delivery!

Enzo Maresca – 2 Lions

Maresca rotated like a DJ on a Saturday night! He did what he could, and despite not breaking a sweat, he’d still be in the game with a sturdy performance.

So, what do we think? Chelsea has shown promise, even if some players feel like they left their peak performances at home! But let’s be honest, who didn’t enjoy tonight? Cheers to that, and here’s hoping they keep us entertained for more matches to come!
