C.Gerhardt GmbH through PT Gerhardt Global Indonesia ensures that it will continue to innovate to create quality products with international standards. The company is known to produce laboratory products, mainly for proximate testing.

“PT Gerhardt Global Indonesia markets superior products, especially proximate testing for protein, fat and fiber analysis. From year to year, we always present product innovations to improve the performance and quality of test results as well as safety in the laboratory,” said the General Manager of PT Gerhardt Global Indonesia Kharisma Hidayat quoted from a press release, Sunday (27/10).

PT Gerhardt Global Indonesia collaborates with PT Abadinusa Usahasemesta, as authorized product distributor C.Gerhardt GmbH. This collaboration creates a commitment to quality and a passion for achieving success together with customers.

PT Gerhardt Global Indonesia also launched the newest product from C.Gerhardt GmbH, namely N-Realyzer. This product is a laboratory instrument used to analyze the nitrogen or protein content in a sample.

The samples tested were not limited to the protein content of food and feed ingredients, but also the nitrogen content of environmental samples.

“This tool offers a modern, cost-effective, time-saving and of course environmentally friendly method of chemical waste commonly found in testing laboratories,” said International Customer & Application Support C.Gerhardt GmbH Lukas Brieger.

N-Realyzer uses the Dumas method, the sample is burned (combustion) up to a temperature of 900 degrees Celsius with the help of oxygen gas. This combustion process causes the decomposition of carbon dioxide gas, nitrogen and water vapor.

The gases are then passed through a special column, with a thermal conductivity detector at the end of the column. The measured signal from the thermal conductivity detector for the unknown sample can then be converted into nitrogen content.

The Dumas method has the advantage of being easy to use and fully automated in operation. The method has been developed to be much faster than the Kjeldahl method, taking only 5 minutes for each measurement. Meanwhile, the Kjeldahl method takes an hour or more for the nitrogen/protein content value to come out.

N-Realyzer also does not use toxic chemicals or catalysts, which makes laboratory users safer from the effects of exposure to chemicals for long periods of time.

Professor from IPB University Didah Nur Faridah stated that the innovation and technological developments brought by C. Gerhardt were progress that could be felt and utilized by many parties.

“This is progress that is not only felt by food, feed and environmental industry players, but also academics and government institutions,” he said. (E-2)
