The heavy rain that occurred on Saturday night in Puerto La Cruz prevented the match between Leones del Caracas and Caribes de Anzoátegui from taking place, corresponding to the recent round of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP).
The downpour forced the stoppage of the match at the Alfonso “Chico” Carrasquel stadium, when the end of the fourth inning was being played, there were two outs and La Tribu Oriental dominated the score 4-0.
The maintenance personnel of the Anzoatiguense troop placed a tarp to protect the field for several hours and when they removed it, the LVBP referees checked the infield and noticed that the field was not suitable to continue the regular round confrontation. For that reason they decreed the suspension of the crash at 10:15 pm.
As the five regulatory chapters to decree legal gambling were not completed, the commitment statistics were not valid. The cap was rescheduled for November, the press department of La Maquinaria Indígena reported in a brief statement, published on social networks. The date of the confrontation will be announced in the coming days.
