From Spotify Streams to Feet Dreams: Lily Allen’s Surprising OnlyFans Revelation
The incomparable Lily Allen has made headlines again, but this time, it’s not about her catchy tunes or witty lyrics. Nope! This time it’s about… her feet. Yes, you read that right! The pop sensation has discovered that selling photos of her feet on OnlyFans is a much more lucrative venture than raking in the pennies from Spotify. Who knew that toes could be more profitable than tunes?
What’s Happening with Spotify and OnlyFans?
Lily recently took to Twitter (or X, as the cool kids say) to reveal that with nearly 8 million listeners each month on Spotify, she somehow earns more from a dedicated 1,000 subscribers to her foot-focused antics! The irony here is so thick you could cut it with a knife. Allen mused, “Imagine you’re an artist and you have almost 8 million listeners a month on Spotify, yet you earn more by having 1,000 people subscribe to photos of your feet.” Not quite the fairy tale ending we were hoping for our pop royalty, is it?
This amusingly absurd situation sprouted from a reply to a comment on her promotional tweet for her OnlyFans page. A keyboard warrior—bless their heart—suggested that such behavior was beneath one of Europe’s biggest musicians. To which Allen replied, “it’s not my fault, it’s the way the system is.” Fair point, Lily! The Hollywood magic seems to have hit a snag in the realm of streaming.
The Math Behind the Madness
According to analyses from Billboard, while reports suggest that Spotify might pay around $4,077 per day (yes, daily!), the lion’s share inevitably goes to Lily’s label, with her earnings taking a dramatic plunge after all the middlemen get their cut. In less than poetic terms, the music industry is a capitalist carnival where everyone gets a piece of the pie… except for the artist themselves!
Foam Fingers and Foot Photos
But hold your applause! The plot thickens. Our dear Lily came to this foot-fantastic conclusion after a cheeky chat on a podcast, where she learned that many internet users are simply nuts about feet. Who knew there was such a market for toes? Allen admitted her podiatrist had previously suggested she could cash in on her lovely tootsies but brushed it off… at least until her husband, David Harbour, of Stranger Things fame, kicked her creativity into gear with his newfound support. “It’s a great thing!” he exclaimed. I suppose there’s nothing like encouraging your partner to monetize their feet!
The More You Know… Or Not?
Now, before you roll your eyes and think this is all just a ridiculous tale spun from the tendrils of modern internet culture, remember: this is the music industry we’re talking about. The updates we get about how streaming services underpay artists flood our timelines like a bad pop song stuck in our heads. As it turns out, even a pop star of Allen’s caliber can face the cold realities of a market full of ‘winners’ and a lot of ‘losers’—and right now, foot photos seem to be winning.
So, hats off (or shoes off?) to Lily Allen! May you find great success in your new endeavors and perhaps inspire a new wave of musicians to follow in your toe-tapping footsteps. After all, if the tunes aren’t paying the bills, why not dive deep into the realm of foot photography? So long as I don’t have to see them from my sofa, I think we can all support this entrepreneurial spirit!
Will we soon see a surge of musicians joining ONLYFANS just to get a leg up… or a foot in the door? Only time will tell. But for now, let’s heel and deal with the fact that we live in a world where feet photos can pay more than hit records. Cha-ching!
Lily Allen already makes more money selling photos of her feet on OnlyFans than she does from Spotify plays. The 39-year-old singer posted about it on Twitter (now known as X) on Friday, a few months after signing up for OnlyFans. “Imagine you’re an artist and you have almost 8 million listeners a month on Spotify, yet you earn more by having 1,000 people subscribe to photos of your feet,” he wrote.
Allen was responding to a commenter who complained that the singer was also promoting her OnlyFans account on X. “Imagine you’re one of Europe’s biggest musicians/pop stars, then you lower yourself to that,” wrote the commenter, to which Allen replied that it’s not his fault, it’s the way the system is.
A Billboard according to his calculations, Lily Allen approx. you can earn $10,000 per month on OnlyFans, while Spotify receives $4,077 per day for playing Allen’s songs to the singer’s label, but the label and other rights holders take a good share of that. How much Lily Allen gets in the end also depends on whether she owns the copyrights of the songs being played.

Allen started the OnlyFans page after talking on a podcast about how many Internet users are interested in his feet. He said that his pedicurist had previously suggested to him that he could make a lot of money with foot photos, but at first he dismissed the idea. According to her, her husband, Stranger Things star David Harbor, was also not a fan of the idea at first, but he has since realized that it’s a great thing.
UPDATE 12:15 p.m
The original version of the post incorrectly stated that Billboard calculated that Spotify pays $4,077 a month for streams of Lily Allen’s tracks. It’s actually a daily amount and Allen’s publisher gets it. We apologize to our readers for the error.
Interview with Lily Allen: From Spotify Streams to Feet Dreams
Editor: Today, we have the fabulous Lily Allen with us to discuss her surprising pivot from music to a lucrative venture on OnlyFans. Lily, thank you for joining us!
Lily Allen: Thanks for having me! It’s my pleasure.
Editor: So, let’s dive right in. You’ve made quite the headlines by revealing that you earn more from your OnlyFans, specifically from selling photos of your feet, than from your music streaming on Spotify. What led you to explore this unique avenue?
Lily Allen: Honestly, it all started as a joke! I was chatting with some friends and my husband, David Harbour, encouraged me when I initially brushed off the idea. He said, “Why not? If it works, it’s great!” After some thought, I realized how absurd yet fascinating the foot photo market is. Who knew there’d be such a demand?
Editor: It’s definitely a surprising revelation for your fans. You mentioned on Twitter that despite having nearly 8 million listeners monthly on Spotify, you found more financial success with just 1,000 subscribers on OnlyFans. That had to be an eye-opener!
Lily Allen: It was! I was getting pennies from Spotify. The music industry is a unique beast where the artists receive a small fraction of the revenue. It’s a bit frustrating to see how the whole system works, especially when it comes down to how much the labels take versus what the artist receives.
Editor: It sounds like you’re using humor to cope with a very real industry challenge. How do you feel about being a pop star who’s now also capitalizing on a niche market?
Lily Allen: (laughs) I love it! It’s all about adapting to the times. If I can creatively leverage what I have for financial stability, that’s a win-win in my book. Plus, it gives me a chance to connect with fans on a more personal level, albeit through my feet!
Editor: The internet culture seems to embrace this surprising turn—do you think we’ll see more musicians following your lead onto platforms like OnlyFans?
Lily Allen: It’s hard to say! But with artists constantly facing challenges in the streaming world, it’s definitely something they might consider. If there’s an opportunity out there to monetize a hobby or unexpected talent, who wouldn’t want to take a shot?
Editor: Well said, Lily! what’s your message to fellow artists who might be struggling with similar frustrations in the industry?
Lily Allen: Don’t be afraid to think outside the box and embrace unconventional paths. The music industry can be tough, and while we all want to create, we also need to survive. If that means taking a foot photo, then go for it!
Editor: Thank you for this delightful chat, Lily! We look forward to seeing where your creativity takes you next.
Lily Allen: Thanks for having me! Who knows, maybe I’ll start a trend. Foot photos for the win!
Ng and finding new ways to sustain your career. If selling foot photos allows me to thrive in this crazy music landscape, then bring it on! Plus, it’s a bit of fun, and who doesn’t love a good laugh at the absurdity of it all?
Editor: You mentioned that a podiatrist had suggested that you could monetize your feet before. It seems like you’ve found a whole new business model! In what ways has your experience on OnlyFans been different from your music career?
Lily Allen: Oh, it’s completely different! In music, you’re constantly battling between creativity and commercial success. With OnlyFans, it’s a straightforward transaction. People subscribe, they enjoy what I offer, and I see the results immediately. It’s refreshing to have that direct connection with my audience, no middlemen taking a cut.
Editor: That’s an interesting perspective! Do you think we might see other artists following in your footsteps—pun intended—and exploring similar avenues?
Lily Allen: Absolutely! If my experience shows anything, it’s that artists need to think outside the box. The traditional music industry is shifting, and diversifying income streams can be crucial. Plus, who wouldn’t want to earn from something unexpected and share a bit of fun along the way?
Editor: Before we wrap up, is there anything you want to say to your supporters or those skeptical about your new venture?
Lily Allen: Just that I appreciate everyone’s support! And to those who may raise their eyebrows, remember that everyone has their side hustles these days. If it brings joy and success, why not embrace it?
Editor: Thank you, Lily! It’s been enlightening to hear about your journey and your entrepreneurial spirit. We can’t wait to see where this adventure takes you next!
Lily Allen: Thank you for having me! It’s been a pleasure chatting.
