Authorities have officially named the individual who was tragically fatally shot in Plymouth, Massachusetts, on Friday afternoon, as well as the suspect taken into custody shortly after the incident. New details regarding the events leading up to this violent occurrence have emerged.
The victim has been identified as Brent Berkley, a 41-year-old man whose life was cut short in the middle of a bustling town during dinner time.
In a shocking revelation, 23-year-old David Gerome was arrested and charged not only with murder but also with reckless endangerment of a child, among other serious offenses.
District Attorney Timothy Cruz provided an update on Saturday, clarifying that the confrontation began over a minor traffic incident, which escalated into a violent altercation before the shooting took place.
Cruz further noted that Gerome had his 18-month-old child in the vehicle at the time of this heated encounter. It has also been reported that Gerome possessed an active license to carry a firearm.
Authorities reported that Gerome was apprehended without any resistance from him.
