MINISTER of Villages and Disadvantaged Regions Development (Mendes PDT) Yandri Susanto admitted that he lacked control over using the ministry’s official letterhead for personal purposes. Yandri admitted that he was busy so he didn’t look into it further.

“There was a discussion at that time within the secretary general’s internal office, there needed to be a letter. Yes, because I was busy, there were a lot of preparations after the inauguration, yes, I probably just lacked control,” said Yandri at the Presidential Palace Complex, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, October 23 2024.

Yandri emphasized that he would not use the ministry’s budget for the event. He emphasized that the polemic was just an administrative issue.

“I didn’t use a single cent of the Ministry of Village’s money for the event, for the sake of Allah, for the sake of the Messenger, none,” said Yandri.

The Deputy Chairperson of the National Mandate Party (PAN) did not expect to get excited and promised not to do it again. He will be more careful with bureaucracy and ready to accept input.

“Yes, in the future we will be careful according to procedures. This is good, for us the criticism is very good, very good input from all parties from various circles,” said Yandri.

He also argued that he was just his first time in the executive branch. Because he has been a member of the DPR for a long time.

“Yes, because I just became a minister. So I did three terms in the DPR, right? I’m just learning,” said Yandri.

Previously, Yandri used the ministry’s official letterhead for personal purposes. The letter dated 21 October 2024 contains an invitation to Mrs. Yandri Susanto’s 2nd Haul (death anniversary), at the BAI Mahdi Sholeh Ma’mun Islamic Boarding School, on 22 October 2024.

The letter also received attention from the former Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam), Mahfud MD. (M-4)
