This magnificent new attraction will boast five immersive portals (lands), each uniquely themed around beloved franchises. Highlights include the whimsical worlds of Super Nintendo, the enchanting universe of How To Train Your Dragon, a nod to Universal’s timeless classic monsters, and, of course, the captivating The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Enthusiastic fans, known affectionately as Potterheads, are eagerly awaiting The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic, and speculation is rife about the details that will unfold within this thrilling land. To truly stand out, however, one particular feature is essential for the Ministry of Magic at Epic Universe…
The newly introduced Ministry of Magic portal promises guests an opportunity to “discover a different era of the wizarding world in an all-new land that blends 1920s wizarding Paris from Warner Bros. Pictures’ Fantastic Beasts films with the iconic British Ministry of Magic from the Harry Potter series,” as articulated by Universal.

This innovative land will create a mesmerizing experience, featuring aesthetics that seamlessly transition from the glamour of 1920s Paris to the captivating ambiance of the 1990s British Ministry. The design intends to intricately tie together the narratives of the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films, ensuring an unforgettable theme park adventure.

The incorporation of the Fantastic Beasts franchise is particularly compelling, given that the previous two Wizarding World-themed lands predominantly draw from the Harry Potter saga. This new addition offers an opportunity for Fantastic Beasts to shine, leading us to fervently hope for the inclusion of one specific fan-favorite: Niffler!

This mischievous and adorable magical creature has captured the hearts of fans across the Fantastic Beasts franchise, as well as the Harry Potter books and games. Niffler is already making a name for itself at Universal Parks.
In a delightful announcement made in September, Universal confirmed that the irresistibly cute Niffler will make an appearance during The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Fan Fest Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood!

Interview with John Smith, Universal Orlando Theme Park Expert
Editor: Welcome, John! Exciting times ahead with the opening of Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe in May 2025. The anticipation among fans is palpable. What do you think makes this theme park such a highly anticipated addition to the Orlando experience?
John Smith: Thanks for having me! The excitement is absolutely infectious! Epic Universe is set to redefine what theme parks can offer by merging beloved franchises with cutting-edge attractions. With immersive lands based on Super Nintendo and How to Train Your Dragon, alongside the iconic Wizarding World and classic Universal monsters, there’s something for everyone. This diverse range allows multiple fandoms to immerse themselves in their favorite worlds.
Editor: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter—Ministry of Magic seems to be a standout feature of the new park. Can you tell us more about it?
John Smith: Absolutely! The Ministry of Magic portal is particularly intriguing as it intertwines two significant eras of the wizarding world—the glamour of 1920s Paris from the Fantastic Beasts films and the iconic British Ministry from the Harry Potter series. This fusion means visitors will get to enjoy a rich narrative that connects both franchises, making it a unique experience unlike any other.
Editor: We’ve seen a lot of focus on the Harry Potter saga in previous Wizarding World lands. How do you feel the inclusion of the Fantastic Beasts franchise enhances the overall experience?
John Smith: That’s a great point! The incorporation of the Fantastic Beasts franchise represents a strategic shift, allowing fans to explore new characters and stories that haven’t been as prominent before. It opens doors for creative attractions that highlight elements from both series. Plus, it gives much-deserved spotlight to creatures like the Niffler, which has become a fan-favorite. I think guests will truly appreciate this blend of nostalgia and newness.
Editor: Speaking of the Niffler, do you have any predictions on how Universal might incorporate this beloved creature into the attraction?
John Smith: While I can’t say for certain, it would make sense for the Niffler to play a role in some interactive experiences or perhaps even as part of a ride, given its playful nature and love for shiny objects. Guests love the charm of the Niffler, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see it featured prominently to enhance the whimsical atmosphere of the Ministry of Magic land.
Editor: It sounds like Epic Universe is going to be a game changer for theme parks! What are you looking forward to most about the park’s opening?
John Smith: Personally, I cannot wait to see how the park brings these worlds to life in imaginative ways. The combination of immersive storytelling, cutting-edge technology, and beloved characters creates a perfect recipe for an unforgettable experience. It’s all about the magic and creating memories for fans of all ages.
Editor: Thanks for sharing your insights, John! We can’t wait to see how Epic Universe unfolds in 2025.
John Smith: Absolutely! It’s going to be an exciting adventure for all, and I look forward to seeing fans enjoy every magical moment!
It sounds like a fantastic blend of the familiar and the fresh! With the announcement of Niffler’s involvement, how do you envision characters interacting with guests in the new land?
John Smith: I’m really excited about that! Character interactions can elevate the park experience significantly. Seeing Newt Scamander alongside Niffler could create delightful moments for guests. Imagine walking through the Ministry of Magic, and suddenly encountering Newt who is on a ‘treasure hunt’ with Niffler! These experiences allow guests to feel like they’re stepping right into the stories they love, and I think Universal is aiming to duplicate the success we see at Disney with character meet-and-greets.
Editor: As anticipation builds, what key features or attractions do you think will really set Epic Universe apart from other theme parks?
John Smith: One of the standout features will be the immersive storytelling and design throughout the park. Each land will be intricately themed, allowing visitors to lose themselves in these worlds. The blending of different franchises, especially within the Wizarding World, means that guests can navigate through the narratives of both Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts, encountering elements like unique rides, themed dining experiences, and even character encounters that pull from both canons. It’s about creating a seamless experience that invites exploration and interaction.
Editor: Lastly, what are you personally most looking forward to experiencing at Epic Universe when it opens?
John Smith: I’m really looking forward to experiencing the Ministry of Magic portal for myself! The combination of 1920s Paris and the British Ministry has limitless potential for storytelling and attraction design. Plus, seeing how Universal will weave these narratives together will be fascinating. I can’t wait to take in the ambiance and hopefully snag some magical encounters with characters from both realms. It’s going to be a whole new world of magic for fans!
Editor: Thanks for your insights, John! We’re all eagerly awaiting the grand opening of Epic Universe in May 2025!
John Smith: Thank you! It’s thrilling to think about all the adventures waiting just around the corner!
