Editor: Thank you for joining us, DIG Imran Kishor. We have been hearing concerning reports about a dacoit gang operating in Lahore, specifically in the Defense area. Can you explain what’s happening?
DIG Kishor: Thank you for having me. Yes, we are currently dealing with a highly organized five-member dacoit gang that has been active for the past 20 days. They have successfully committed robberies in multiple households across various blocks in the Defense area, accumulating substantial amounts in cash and valuables.
Editor: It’s alarming to learn that they are using sophisticated methods. What can you tell us about their techniques?
DIG Kishor: Indeed, one of the most concerning aspects of this gang is their use of a jammer device. This device disrupts mobile and internet signals within a two-kilometer radius of the crime scene, preventing victims from alerting authorities during the robbery. Additionally, they are using fake number plates on their getaway vehicle, which complicates our tracking efforts.
Editor: How is the police department responding to these incidents and tracking the gang?
DIG Kishor: Our team is actively utilizing various modern technologies, including CCTV footage and data from the Safe City Authority. We are currently analyzing this evidence to gain insights into the gang’s movements. We’ve made significant progress in our investigation and are hopeful that we will apprehend the robbers soon.
Editor: Speaking of progress, can you share any updates on the specific incidents that have occurred recently?
DIG Kishor: Yes, we’ve registered multiple FIRs, with detailed accounts from victims. For instance, just last night, a family was held at gunpoint while the robbers stole a substantial amount of cash and jewelry. Interestingly, once the robbers left, the mobile and internet services resumed immediately, which highlights the use of the jammer effectively.
Editor: It sounds like a coordinated and sophisticated operation. What advice do you have for residents to protect themselves from such crimes?
DIG Kishor: We urge residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police immediately. Installing surveillance cameras, having a robust security system, and maintaining communication with neighbors can also be crucial in preventing these types of crimes.

DIG Kishor: Thank you for your support and for helping to raise awareness. We’re committed to ensuring the safety of our citizens.
Hat we will apprehend the perpetrators soon.
Editor: That’s reassuring to hear, but given the frequency of these robberies, how can residents protect themselves in the meantime?
DIG Kishor: We urge residents to remain vigilant. It’s important to keep their communication devices charged and accessible, as well as to report any suspicious activity immediately. Additionally, we recommend enhancing home security measures, such as installing security cameras and alarms.
Editor: How have residents responded to these incidents? Are they cooperating with the police investigations?
DIG Kishor: Yes, the community has been very supportive. Victims have provided valuable information that has helped us understand the tactics used by the gang. Their cooperation is essential in our efforts to restore safety in the area.
