Ferrari RACER Charles Leclerc admits that he is still optimistic about competing and fighting for the Formula 1 title this season,
despite his consistent performance, he is in third place in the standings, behind Max Verstappen (Red Bull) and Lando Norris (McLaren).
Quoted from the official Formula 1 website, Sunday (20/10), Leclerc said he would fight until the end to tighten the competition for the highest title this season, through the last six races.
“I will fight for that (championship title) until the end (of the season),” said Leclerc.

“First place is what I want, and that’s the mentality I have for the rest of the season, to win as many races as possible, and then we’ll see where we finish in the championship,” he added.
Despite his ups and downs during the season, Leclerc remains in third place in the standings after good performances over the last few weekends, including an impressive win at Monza.
The Monaco racer now has 245 points, 34 points adrift of Norris in second place and 86 points adrift of standings leader Verstappen.

Ferrari also finished third in the constructors’ standings with 441 points. This means that they have a 34 point deficit from Red Bull in P2 while McLaren looks strong at the top with a total of 516 points.
Furthermore, Leclerc said his performance in the last six races of the season, including the United States (US) GP this weekend, would be his main focus.
According to Leclerc, the next six races will be crucial because they relate to the car’s development approach for the upcoming season.
“Of course we are fully focused on 2024, but at the same time, as drivers, we also have to have a clear mindset for the vision of 2025,” said Leclerc.
“That’s the direction we’re taking going into 2025. We’re fully focused on the 2024 season. However, whatever we bring to the car
“of course we are thinking about the medium and long term,” he concluded. (Ant/Z-1)
