Three people were killed and at least nine others injured in a Russian missile attack on the city of Dnipro in central Ukraine on Friday evening. This was announced by the governor of the region Serhiy Lysak on Telegram. Residential buildings and a medical facility were hit. Among the injured were an eight-year-old girl and a teenager. One person was killed in a drone attack on an apartment block in Kyiv.
The state emergency service announced on Friday evening that two more people were injured in the capital. Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko had previously said that a Russian drone attack had caused a fire in an apartment block. “The upper floors of a high-rise building in the Solomianskyj district that was hit by an enemy drone are burning. Apartments on the 17th, 18th and 19th floors were damaged,” Klitschko said on the Telegram online service. Emergency services are on site. According to the state emergency service, the fire spread to the 21st floor. Around a hundred people were evacuated.
A reporter from the AFP news agency saw an aircraft that looked like a drone crash into the building in western Kiev, causing a fire to break out.
Russia is also constantly using drones in its war of aggression in Ukraine, which began in February 2022. Kiev has repeatedly called on its Western allies to provide more air defense support.
