Jessica forged a close friendship with Ariana during her spell as Elphaba in the landmark 15th Anniversary cast of the iconic musical Wicked. Notably, Ariana participated in a star-studded NBC special honoring the anniversary, where Jessica also showcased her talents.

Reflecting on their friendship, Jessica shared, “Ariana Grande and I met while I was playing Elphaba on Broadway, during Wicked’s massive 15th anniversary year. We became soul sister friends, as we both filmed an NBC special to celebrate the anniversary. We’ve kept in touch ever since. I’ll never forget receiving a FaceTime from her just before the news broke that she would be playing Glinda in the Wicked film. I looked forward to our conversations where we’d discuss her dreams, as I donned the green makeup for a show. She was always manifesting the amazing chance to portray Glinda, and I can’t think of anyone more deserving who works harder. Her song, ‘Santa Tell Me,’ has always been a BOP for me, and I wanted to put a Bridgerton spin on it with a new arrangement and orchestration. I called her to share my vision, and she loved it! Fun fact: you’ll never find a more supportive friend. By sheer coincidence, it turns out to be the 10th anniversary for ‘Santa Tell Me,’ and I had no idea! Talk about serendipity! After crafting my version, I sent it to Ari for her blessing, and she penned a few gorgeous words to accompany the release,” Jessica elaborated.
As she prepares for her triumphant return to Broadway this December in the highly anticipated musical Hell’s Kitchen, Jessica will bring her festive spirit to fans through her album Sleigh, complemented by an enchanting Christmas Symphony tour that will feature stops in D.C. and New York City.

It’s truly special to have her as my friend and champion.
