Images edited with AI will be labeled as such in Google Photos. In addition to the existing metadata for artificial images, Google is now also adding a textual warning.

According to an example on the blog Google is adding an ‘AI Info’ section to the image detail screen. It will also mention which AI tool was used to edit the image. Furthermore, the system will indicate when an image has been adjusted with generative AI or when it is a composite image (for example with the Best Take function, without generative AI being used).
