Does Indonesia’s Maxus Mifa 9 Put the MPV in EV?

Jakarta – Just when you thought your options for family transportation couldn’t get any groovier, along comes the Indomobil Group, ready to assemble its very own version of the large MPV car—the highly anticipated Maxus Mifa 9. Will it revolutionize the roads or just roll off the assembly line and into the abyss of overpriced electrical appliances on wheels? If Indomobil manages to pull this off and produces it locally, guess what? The price could be a steal—under IDR 1 billion. Yes, you heard it right! That’s about what some people pay for a slightly used smartphone these days. Who needs a fully loaded iPhone when you could roll in style with a sweet MPV?

Now, you might be thinking, “Indomobil Energi Baru is the Sole Agent? What does that even mean?” Well, it means this company is taking the wheel (no pun intended!) as the official Maxus Brand Holder in Indonesia. They’ll also be making a splash at the Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week 2024. Mark your calendars, folks; it’s from 22 November to 1 December 2024. Whether you’re a car enthusiast or just there to see what shade of blue they’ll paint the roof of the Mifa, it’s bound to be a hoot!

Who wouldn’t want that kind of reputation?

Let’s get down to brass tacks. What exactly does this Mifa 9 offer? A blend of luxury, innovation, and practical family utility—all while being kind to Mother Earth. It’s specifically targeted at families and executives. Who knew saving the planet could look so good? It’s like ordering a vegan burger and realizing it actually tastes better than the real deal. Mind blown!

Now, let’s talk turkey (or tofu, if you prefer). This commitment to electric vehicles is a big deal. Indomobil is backing government policies aimed at boosting the electric vehicle scene in Indonesia. The Mifa 9 is part of the Battery Based Electric Motor Vehicle (KBLBB) acceleration program. So yes, it’s got government approval, folks. It’s like getting a dating app swipe right from the environment!

But wait, there’s more! The Mifa 9 will be produced locally, and it’s even got some import duty benefits during its launch. Think of it like a welcome mat for eco-friendly cars. By making it more affordable, it lowers the barrier to entry for those who want to jump on the electric bandwagon without breaking the bank.

Yudhy Tan, the Chief Operating Officer over at Indomobil, has green-lighted this excitement by announcing that they’re proud to produce the Mifa 9 locally. “We believe the Maxus Mifa 9 will be the main choice for consumers who are seeking environmentally friendly vehicles,” he explained.
