It is now a finished chapter. The club announces that Mark Nielsen, who has been part of the ownership since 2018, will take over the post from Eigild B. Christensen per 1 November 2024.
The change takes place by agreement and involves a partial transfer of ownership from the outgoing chairman to the new one. Eigild B. Christensen and Mark Nielsen will be equal owners of the club going forward.
– It has been an exciting journey to be part of Aalborg Handball‘s development, from the first steps in 2011 to today being one of the world’s leading handball clubs. But now the time is ripe to let new forces take over, and I am incredibly happy that Mark has agreed to take on the chairmanship, says Eigild B. Christensen in a press release.
Strive for bigger goals
The new chairman has the same goals as the soon-to-be former chairman. Aalborg Handball must continue the journey towards becoming the world’s best handball club.
– Since I became part of the ownership group in 2018, my commitment to Aalborg Handball has only grown stronger. Although we have already made our mark with seven Danish championships, we strive for an even bigger goal. I therefore look forward to continuing the close collaboration with everyone in and around the club and contributing to our common ambitions, says Mark Nielsen.
In addition to Eigild B. Christensen and Mark Nielsen, director Jan Larsen is also part of the ownership group.
