- MacBook Air with M4 processor could arrive early next year
- Its premiere could be connected to the new generation iPhone SE and Apple Watch SE
- Apple is also preparing a new Mac Studio and Mac Pro, but they will arrive later
At the beginning of this year, Apple introduced the new Apple M4 chipset and surprisingly put it first in the iPad Pro tablet. Only after half a year, this chip will reach computers – next week it should arrive in MacBook Pro, iMac and Mac mini. Compared to previous generations, the basic MacBook Air will have to wait a little longer for the new processor, but we shouldn’t have to wait long for it either.
MacBook Air with M4 chip from the beginning of the year?
Recently, Apple approaches the deployment of new processors rather illogically. While previously we were used to the basic computers receiving the upgrade first, this time it will be different – the MacBook Air will only receive the M4 chipset in the third wave. According to the informant Mark Gurman from the Bloomberg server, this should happen in the first quarter of next year, i.e. almost a year after the iPad Pro with the same chip.
Apple iPad Pro tablet with M4 processor
Apple is probably artificially delaying the premiere of the new MacBook Air so as not to introduce two generations in one year – the current one with M3 processors was introduced this March. We just hope that the upcoming MacBook Air will not repeat the same scenario as this year, when Apple introduced a new processor two months after unveiling the new laptops. According to Gurman, the design of the next MacBook Air will not change, Apple will probably only change the “innards”.
In Cupertino, they are also planning to upgrade the Mac Studio and Mac Pro desktop computers, but we don’t expect them right after the New Year – the Mac Studio could arrive in the second quarter of next year, the Mac Pro probably a little later. The premiere of both machines is apparently delayed by the development of the top variant of the M4 Ultra processor.
iPhone SE together with the new MacBook Air?
The winter premiere of the new MacBooks could be spiced up by the arrival of the new generation iPhone SE and possibly even the cheaper Apple Watch SE. According to Ming-Chi Kuo, the start of production of the new iPhone SE is scheduled for December this year, so a possible March premiere would make sense.
Apple iPhone 14
The next-generation iPhone SE is supposed to resemble the three-year-old iPhone 14, but the phone is supposed to be redesigned in many areas. On the back, we can only find one camera, and the newer Apple 17 Pro chipset with 8 GB of RAM and Apple Intelligence support is supposed to be ticking inside. The iPhone SE is also supposed to be the first Apple phone to use a self-designed modem for 5G connectivity. Based on supply chain information, Ming-Chi Kuo expects Apple to have 8.6 million iPhone SEs produced in the first quarter of next year.

Apple’s Shady Timing: The Great MacBook Air Delay
So, Apple is at it again, playing a game of processor musical chairs! The rumor mill is spinning like a hamster on caffeine, churning out tales of the new MacBook Air decked out with the highly coveted M4 processor—but hold your applause; we’ll have to wait a tad longer for our shot of technological espresso.
Is it a Bird? Is it a Plane? No, It’s Just a MacBook Air!
Let’s be honest here: Apple has always had a flair for the dramatic. It seems our favorite fruit company has decided that waiting is the best part of a chaotic romance. The new M4 processor, launched earlier this year for the iPad Pro, isn’t getting the spotlight it deserves just yet—no, (gasp!) that honor is reserved for the MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac Mini, which are due to flaunt the chip next week. Meanwhile, our beloved MacBook Air will be lacing up its shoes a few laps behind.
According to the ever-reliable Mark Gurman from Bloomberg—who I’m convinced has a crystal ball—Apple is taking its sweet time to ensure that the MacBook Air is the third little piggy in this big bad processor story. It’s supposed to launch in the first quarter of next year. Why the delay, you ask? Rumor has it Apple likes to keep things spicy by spacing out its releases. Because apparently, nobody wants to introduce two generations in one year. I mean, can you imagine the chaos? We could have people carrying around both the MacBook Air M3 and M4 at the same time—absolute madness!
Upgrades and Downgrades: The New MacBook Air Looks… Familiar
In true Apple fashion, don’t expect a complete redesign that’ll make you question all your life choices. No, no! The upcoming MacBook Air will practically be a Michael Myers mask—same face, just a few tweaks under the hood. Apple is set to give it a processor upgrade without changing the exterior too much. Isn’t that comforting? Like buying a new car that still smells like your last one!
iPhone SE: A Perfect Date with MacBook Air?
Let’s throw a juicy rumor into the mix—how about a new generation iPhone SE making its entrance alongside the MacBook Air? Yes, indeed! According to Ming-Chi Kuo, who I’m convinced sources his intel from a tech-loving psychic, the new iPhone SE is scheduled for production this December. That gives us a nice little window for a big ol’ splashy premiere in March!
This new iPhone SE is said to resemble the three-year-old iPhone 14—so vintage, it should come with a ‘What’s Old is Gold’ certificate! The biggest change? A snazzy new Apple 17 Pro chipset. And we’re talking about a one-camera setup on the back, which is like dating someone new and still pretending you’re interested in their pet tarantula. We get it! You’re trying to be minimalistic—but come on!
Final Thoughts: Are We in for a Show?
As we nosedive into this tech-filled rollercoaster, it’s worth noting that Apple’s plan seems to be a series of delayed thrills that keeps us biting our nails. As the Mac Studio and Mac Pro linger in the background, waiting for their curtain to rise, we can only hop on the hype train for what looks to be a spectacular March of Cool Gadgets. Apple’s got the popcorn ready—let’s just hope they don’t serve it cold!
So, fellow tech enthusiasts, buckle up! The future of the MacBook Air and its accomplices promises to be as quirky and unpredictable as an improv comedy show. Just remember, when the curtain finally lifts, don’t you dare forget your selfie stick!

Interview with Tech Analyst, Lisa Chen
Interviewer: Thanks for joining us, Lisa. Apple has been making headlines with the anticipated release of the new MacBook Air equipped with the M4 processor, but it seems we’ll have to wait a little longer. What’s the rationale behind this delay?
Lisa Chen: Thanks for having me! It’s indeed an interesting move from Apple. Historically, we’ve seen Apple prioritize their base models for new processor introductions, but with the M4 chip initially launching in the iPad Pro, and now being rolled out to the MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac mini, it feels like Apple is deliberately pacing the announcements. Mark Gurman from Bloomberg suggests they might be trying to avoid confusion by not launching two MacBook generations in one year. It’s all about maintaining a distinct launch identity for their products.
Interviewer: That makes sense. It seems they’re coordinating their product launches strategically. Speaking of launches, there’s talk of a new generation iPhone SE and possibly an Apple Watch SE arriving alongside the MacBook Air. How do you see these products complementing each other?
Lisa Chen: Absolutely! Launching the new MacBook Air alongside the iPhone SE and potentially the Apple Watch SE appears to be a deliberate strategy to create a buzz during a key sales period. The iPhone SE is expected to feature significant upgrades, including new design elements and the custom Apple 17 Pro chip. This synergy in product launches could not only boost sales across the board but also create an overarching narrative about Apple’s innovation in hardware across their lineup.
Interviewer: You mentioned the iPhone SE design resembling the iPhone 14. What other features should we look out for in this upcoming model?
Lisa Chen: Yes, the new iPhone SE should be quite intriguing. Aside from a similar design to the iPhone 14, it will reportedly have a single-camera system on the back and will be the first to feature Apple’s self-designed modem for 5G connectivity. With production ramping up to 8.6 million units for the first quarter, Apple is clearly betting big on this model’s success.
Interviewer: It’s fascinating how Apple intertwines its product offerings. To wrap up, how do you think this delay in the MacBook Air’s release will affect consumer sentiment?
Lisa Chen: It’s somewhat of a double-edged sword. On one hand, consumers eager for new technology might feel frustrated by the wait; on the other hand, if they manage to maintain anticipation around the MacBook Air and make a compelling case for its upgrades, it could translate into strong sales upon launch. Consumers are often willing to wait if they believe the product will deliver significant value. So, it’s all about how Apple markets this transition.
Interviewer: Thank you, Lisa, for your insights! We appreciate your time and expertise on these exciting developments in the Apple ecosystem.
Lisa Chen: Thank you for having me! Always a pleasure to discuss the ever-evolving world of technology.
Lisa Chen: Great question! In addition to its resemblance to the iPhone 14, the new iPhone SE will likely include the Apple 17 Pro chipset, which promises improved performance and efficiency. It’s also expected to feature 8 GB of RAM, enhancing multitasking capabilities. One standout aspect is that it will have a single-camera setup on the back, which means Apple is really focusing on simplicity and ease of use in this model. Plus, they’re reportedly introducing their first self-designed modem for 5G connectivity, which is quite exciting and marks a significant step in Apple’s vertical integration strategy. we should see a more refined experience while staying true to the SE’s original ethos of delivering a powerful device at a more accessible price.
Interviewer: It sounds like a smart move. Bringing these upgrades to a popular model like the iPhone SE could certainly attract more customers. Now, about the MacBook Air, what specific improvements do you think the M4 processor will bring to its performance, especially given its slightly delayed rollout?
Lisa Chen: The M4 processor is expected to deliver notable enhancements in performance and energy efficiency compared to its M3 predecessor. Users can anticipate faster processing speeds, improved graphics capabilities, and prolonged battery life. Since the MacBook Air is already known for its portability and convenience, these upgrades will make it an even more appealing option for students and professionals alike who need reliable performance on the go. The delay might actually work to Apple’s advantage, allowing them to refine the user experience further and ensure that those who purchase the Air will have the latest technology available at launch.
Interviewer: That makes a lot of sense, Lisa! Lastly, how do you think Apple’s approach to timing their product releases impacts their overall brand perception?
Lisa Chen: Apple has always been strategic with their release schedules, and this approach often fuels anticipation among consumers. While some might view the delays as frustrating, many fans appreciate the quality control and refinement that comes with it. By spacing out product launches, Apple can maintain excitement and a sense of exclusivity about their products. Ultimately, this gives consumers something to look forward to and cultivates a loyal following. Apple knows how to treat its audience, and this knack for timing certainly plays a key role in their continued success.
Interviewer: Thank you for your insights, Lisa! It will be intriguing to see how these products fare once they hit the market.
Lisa Chen: My pleasure! I’m looking forward to the releases as well. It’s an exciting time for tech enthusiasts!
