The Special Administrative Unit for Animal Protection (UAEPA) invites citizens to participate in the Huellas Fest, a festival dedicated to animal welfare and protection within the framework of COP16. This event will take place on October 26 at the Alberto Galindo Sports Unit. It will be a free day full of activities for the whole family, with the aim of promoting respect and care for our animal companions.

Featured activities at the Huellas Fest:

  • Free sterilizations: 120 places are available, which will be assigned in order of arrival. The service will begin at 7:00 am and is aimed at canines and felines over 6 months old that weigh less than 25 kg. Brachycephalic breeds, females in heat or pregnancy will not be accepted.

  • Veterinary health brigade: free external consultation, accompanied by behavioral tips from an ethological perspective to improve the relationship with our animal companions.

  • Adoption Day: Animals rescued from abuse and abandonment will be available for adoption, providing an opportunity to find a loving home.

In addition, we will have an educational space on animal rights, aimed at people of all ages, where they will reflect on ethics and animal respect. There will also be strategic allies who will offer complementary services to enjoy this family day.

Don’t miss it!

Huellas Fest is a space of empathy, respect and commitment to animals.

Interview with‌ Ana María, Coordinator⁣ of Huellas Fest

Editor: Good afternoon, Ana⁢ María! Thank you for joining us‌ today. Can you tell us a bit about what inspired the creation of Huellas Fest?

Ana María: Good ⁣afternoon!⁣ Thank you for⁣ having me. Huellas Fest was born out of a need to raise awareness about animal welfare. With the increase in pet ownership, especially⁣ during the pandemic, it became clear that we need to focus not only on the health of our pets but also on responsible ownership. Our goal with Huellas‌ Fest is to create ⁤a⁢ fun and educational environment for families while promoting respect and care for animals.

Editor: That sounds⁣ fantastic! What can attendees expect when they come to the festival on October 26th? ⁢

Ana María: We‌ have a full day of activities‌ planned!‌ The event will‍ include free sterilizations for canines and felines, a veterinary health brigade offering free consultations, and plenty of fun activities for families and pets alike. It’s⁤ designed to be⁢ informative and enjoyable, appealing⁤ to both children and adults.

Editor: The free sterilization services are a great‍ initiative! Can you explain how that process will work?

Ana María: Certainly! We have 120 spots available for sterilizations, and they will be assigned on a first-come,⁣ first-served basis.⁢ The service starts at 7:00 am, and it’s⁣ important to note ‍that it’s for pets over 6 months old and ‍weighing⁣ less than 25 kilos.⁤ We won’t be ⁣able to accept brachycephalic breeds or females in heat or‍ pregnancy⁣ due to⁤ medical constraints.

Editor: That makes sense! With so ‌much going on, how can local residents participate in ⁤Huellas Fest? ⁢

Ana María: ‌We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy ⁤the day! The event is free, and it’s a wonderful opportunity to learn more about animal welfare while bonding with your pets and family. We also ask attendees to⁤ contribute by treating the ‌event space respectfully and following all guidelines we have⁣ in place for their and the animals’ safety.

Editor: Thank you, Ana María, for sharing this‍ exciting information about Huellas‍ Fest. We look⁤ forward to seeing everyone there and supporting ‍animal welfare in our community!

Ana María: Thank you for having me! We can’t wait⁢ to see everyone ⁤at Huellas Fest!
Including free sterilizations for pets, a veterinary health brigade offering consultations, and an adoption day for rescued animals. Families can also engage in educational sessions about animal rights and participate in fun activities designed to foster a love for animals. It’s truly a day for everyone!

Editor: It sounds like a well-rounded event! Can you elaborate on the importance of the free sterilization service, especially for those who might not be aware?

Ana María: Absolutely! The free sterilization service is crucial in helping to control the pet population and preventing overpopulation issues. By providing this service, we aim to reduce the number of unwanted animals while promoting responsible pet ownership. It’s available for canines and felines over six months old, which is a key age for this procedure. We hope that those who take advantage of it will not only help their pets but also contribute to the welfare of animals in our community.

Editor: And what about the adoption aspect? How can people get involved with the animals in need of homes?

Ana María: The adoption day is a very special part of Huellas Fest. We will have several animals, who have been rescued from cases of abuse and abandonment, ready to find their forever homes. It’s a wonderful opportunity for potential adopters to meet these animals and learn about their individual needs. We’re also encouraging families to consider adopting a pet, which can be a fulfilling experience for everyone involved.

Editor: That’s an excellent initiative! how can the community show their support for Huellas Fest beyond attending the festival itself?

Ana María: Community support can take many forms! People can volunteer to help at the festival, spread the word about the event, or donate supplies for the animals. Educating oneself about animal welfare and encouraging responsible pet ownership within their circles is also incredibly important. Every little bit helps in making our community a better place for animals.

Editor: Thank you for your insights, Ana María! We’re excited for the Huellas Fest and hope it inspires more people to support animal welfare.

Ana María: Thank you! We’re looking forward to seeing everyone there!
