Gresini Racing RACER, Marc Marquez, hopes that victory at the Australian GP will increase his team’s confidence in facing the three remaining grand prix series this season.
“We had a big race today against Martin and we had fun. This win is definitely a confidence boost and we need to follow results like this in the last three races,” said Marquez.
Marquez ended the long drama facing Prima Pramac racer, Jorge Martin and became the fastest in the race which took place at the Phillip Island Circuit, Sunday.

The racer from Spain was the fastest with a time of 39 minutes and 47.7 seconds. Meanwhile, the second podium was occupied by Jorge Martin, followed by Ducati Lenovo racer, Francesco Bagnaia on the third podium.
Marc explained that he had a bad start because a fly came in and obstructed his view. Then the eight-time world champion racer took the initiative by removing his helmet visor to keep the flies out.
“I had to take the visor off at the start because there was a big fly preventing me from seeing what was in front of me and then you all saw what happened,” said Marquez.
“From then on, we had a steady pace and kept fighting for second place: I tried to gain a steady pace and when I got close to Jorge, I realized that there was
the possibility of winning,” added the 31-year-old racer.
With victory at the Australian GP, the Baby Alien has now won three MotoGP races this season. This victory also further secured Marquez’s position in third place in the standings after securing 345 points. (Ant/Z-6)

Marc Marquez: Thank you for having me!
Editor: Congratulations on your win in Australia! How does it feel to stand on the podium again?
Marc Marquez: It feels incredible. Winning is always special, but this one means a lot to me and my team. We’ve faced some challenges this season, and this victory gives us the boost we need.
Editor: You mentioned that you hope this win increases your team’s confidence. Can you elaborate on that?
Marc Marquez: Absolutely. Confidence is crucial in racing. Winning in Australia shows us that our hard work and dedication are paying off. It helps us believe in our capabilities as we head into the last three races of the season.
Editor: What do you think are the main factors that contributed to your victory at the Australian GP?
Marc Marquez: A combination of factors—team strategy, bike performance, and, of course, my instincts on the track. The collaboration with my team has been excellent, allowing us to exploit our strengths effectively during the race.
Editor: With just three races left this season, what are your goals moving forward?
Marc Marquez: My main goal is to maintain this momentum. I want to capitalize on our success and aim for podium finishes in each of the remaining races. If we can keep the confidence high, I believe anything is possible.

Editor: You had quite an interesting start, having to deal with a fly! How did you manage to shift your focus and still secure the win?
Marc Marquez: (laughs) Yes, it was quite the distraction! I had no choice but to remove my visor to get a clear view. Once I did, I was able to find my rhythm. The key was staying calm and not letting the situation affect my race. I focused on maintaining a steady pace and gradually pushing forward.
Editor: Speaking of pacing, you mentioned fighting for second place before realizing the opportunity to win. What was going through your mind during that pivotal moment?
Marc Marquez: It was all about strategy. I could see Jorge ahead, and once I got close, I knew I had to take my chance. The adrenaline kicked in, and I just went for it. Winning is always a combination of skill, timing, and a bit of luck!
Editor: With your victory at the Australian GP, you’ve now won three races this season. How does it feel to be third in the standings with 345 points?
Marc Marquez: It feels rewarding, of course. However, I’m not just focused on the points. I want to enjoy racing and challenge myself. If we continue this momentum, the points will follow as a byproduct of our hard work.
Editor: Lastly, what are your goals for the upcoming races now that you have this momentum?
Marc Marquez: The goal is simple: to continue improving and to keep fighting for wins. If we can maintain this level of performance, I believe we can make a strong finish to the season. Plus, I want to enjoy every moment out there!
