Traffic violators are dominated by motorbike riders

A NUMBER of traffic violations were prosecuted during the Zebra Lodaya Operation held by the Indramayu Police.

Head of Indramayu Police Traffic Unit, AKP Abdurrohman Hidayat, explained that traffic violations during the Zebra Lodaya operation which started on October 14 2024 were dominated by motorbike riders. “Satlantas has taken action against 136 violators with fines,” said Abdurrohman, Wednesday (23/10).

Apart from that, as many as 1,777 motorists were also given warnings as a form of education to increase awareness of the importance of obeying traffic regulations.

Not only that, the police also recorded that 76 vehicles were netted because they were using noisy exhausts. “This shows the officers’ efforts to follow up on public complaints regarding noise caused by motorized vehicles,” said Abdurrohman.

Operation Zebra Lodaya aims to reduce the number of accidents and increase public awareness of driving. Through this operation, the Indramayu Police hope to create a safer and more orderly traffic atmosphere ahead of the 2024 regional elections.

“We appeal to all people to always obey traffic regulations for mutual safety. Awareness and obedience in traffic are very important to prevent accidents,” he added.

Indramayu Police will continue this operation and increase patrols to ensure safety and comfort in traffic in Indramayu Regency.

Meanwhile, from Majalengka Regency, it was reported that the Majalengka Police had taken action against 434 motorists in just a week. Operation Zebra Lodaya 2024 was carried out in the Majalengka Regency area. “Our staff immediately issued warnings and even fines to the motorists who were caught in the operation,” said Head of Traffic Unit for the Majalengka Police, AKP Mochammad Ali.

Ali also admitted that it is possible that the number of traffic order violators caught in Operation Zebra Lodaya 2024 will increase. The reason is, this number is the result of action from 14 – 22 October 2024, and Operation Zebra Lodaya 2024 is still being carried out until 27 October 2024. (N-2)
