Egyptian presidential spokesman Ambassador Ahmed Fahmy said The two presidents reviewed the overall bilateral relations and ways to develop them in various fields, as well as enhancing coordination between the two countries in multilateral frameworks, especially the BRICS grouping.
The two presidents appreciated the remarkable development and positive milestones witnessed in the relations of the two countries since the launch of their comprehensive strategic partnership relations in 2014, stressing their keenness to build on the momentum resulting from the state visit made by President Sisi to China in May 2024.
In turn, the Egyptian President expressed his appreciation for China’s participation in many major economic projects in Egypt, especially in the fields of infrastructure, transportation, and railways, and Egypt’s aspiration to continue fruitful cooperation with China in manufacturing and technology transfer to Egypt.
The official spokesman added that the two presidents discussed regional and international developments, most notably the situation in the Middle East, and stressed the importance of working immediately to reduce the escalation and prevent the expansion of the conflict in order to avoid the outbreak of a regional war, which would have negative effects on all parties.
The two leaders also called for the necessity of reaching a permanent and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue by launching a political path that leads to the establishment of a Palestinian state in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions, as the ideal solution to ensure sustainable security in the region.
Earlier today, in the Russian city of Kazan, the BRICS summit was held, in which Egypt participated for the first time as a full member, after joining the grouping at the beginning of this year.
