HARMONY in the relationship between journalists and Polri personnel will have a positive impact on supporting the realization of security stability and public order. Including during the Simultaneous Pilkada (Regional Head Election) procession at the end of 2024.

Jambi Regional Police Chief Inspector General Rusdi Hartono confirmed this when invited to have a casual dialogue with dozens of journalists and public relations personnel from 10 police resorts (Polres) within the Jambi Regional Police, at the Siginjai Sakti Wira Bhakti Building, Wednesday (23/10).

Rusdi Hartono said that members of the National Police and journalists actually have the same duties and responsibilities, to create a comfortable and safe living situation for the community. “Wrapped in a relationship of love and affection. Far from feelings of hatred, dislike or feeling like you are the rightest or most powerful,” he said.

Rusdi, who has experience serving as Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, explained that as a creation of God Almighty, every human being is basically born to do good, including police and journalists.

According to Rusdi, to create press harmonization, especially in collaboration with Polri personnel who are in charge of public relations duties, they should be able to abandon their individual sense of selfishness. To achieve a common goal, namely creating a situation of harmony in society.

“The ego of feeling the most righteous, feeling that you are the greatest, the most powerful, is the dark side of human egoism. If we can get rid of that, media friends will be able to work to create harmony in society. On the other hand, the police will also work to create harmony in society . Don’t worry, it’s not difficult!” explained Rusdi Hartono. (N-2)
