FC Barcelona beat Bayern Munich 4-1 this Wednesday, in a memorable night for Brazilian Raphinha in the European Champions League.

The Rio attacker scored three goals, including one in the first minute of the game, to guide the Catalans’ resounding victory at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium, their alternate home while the reconstruction of the Camp Nou is completed.

With the victory against the Bavarians, those led by Hansi Flick reached six points, the product of two wins and one setback in three games. They now occupy tenth place in the general table, while the Germans are in 23rd position with a trio of units.

Barcelona was present on the scoreboard from early on. Raphinha took advantage of a pass from Fermín López and outpaced the Bayern centre-backs to go one-on-one with Manuel Neuer, whom he dribbled past and then scored to make it 1-0.

At 36′ the Blaugrana team once again took control of the score with a goal from Robert Lewandowski (for his former team), after another assist from young Fermín López. The first half was 3-1 thanks to Raphinha scoring for the second time, at 45+2′.

In extra time the Catalans sealed the victory with the Brazilian winger’s third goal, in the 56th minute from a pass from Lamine Yamal.

The Spanish eleven had several opportunities to extend the advantage, but finally the actions ended 4-1.

This Wednesday’s Champions League day was completed with another eight games. Brest of France and Bayer Leverkusen of Germany agreed 1-1, Atalanta of Italy and Celtic of Scotland drew goalless, while Dinamo Zagreb of Croatia beat Red Bull Salzburg of Austria 2-0.

Inter Milan from Italy beat Young Boys from Switzerland 1-0, Liverpool from England applied the same dose to RB Leipzig from Germany, Manchester City from England beat Sparta Prague from the Czech Republic 5-0, Feyenoord from the Netherlands dominated 3 -1 against Benfica from Portugal and Lille from France defeated Atlético de Madrid from Spain with the same score.
