The Doctor Will See You Now…for All the Wrong Reasons

In an absurd turn of events that sounds like something out of a very dark sitcom, the Carabinieri of Cantù has reported the arrest of a general practitioner who seems to have made a rather unique interpretation of the Hippocratic Oath. Rather than healing the sick, it appears he opted for a more hands-on approach—if you know what I mean.

The tale unfolds in Novedrate, where you’d think people were just going in for a routine check-up. But alas, they found themselves in a very different script! A 24-year-old woman who went in expecting to discuss her ailments instead became the unwitting star of a farcical horror show, allegedly being groped by her doctor. I mean, is it just me, or is that not the type of bedside manner anyone signed up for?

And it seems she wasn’t alone! Other patients had reportedly experienced similar “special attention”. It’s almost like a ‘Buy one, get one free’ when it comes to inappropriate doctor-patient interactions. This isn’t just a medical malpractice case; it’s an outright clinic of calamity!

With surgical precision, the Carabinieri gathered enough evidence to issue a precautionary arrest for our 57-year-old Lebanese doctor. One can only hope that at his next appointment, he receives something more fitting—an MRI to scan for whatever drove him to think such behavior was acceptable. Several IT devices were seized from his home for analysis. Because yes, in this digital age, even a dubious doc needs to look up “how not to be a creep” on Google.

But wait, there’s more! In a delightful subplot, another gentleman, this time from Pavia, found himself in hot water with the Carabinieri after he developed an unhealthy obsession with turning his relationship woes into a thrilling series of phone threats. I can picture him now: sitting at home, pacing back and forth, muttering to himself about how to show his ex just how much he loves her. Spoiler alert: incessant phone calls and stalking are not romantic gestures!

So, here we have it, folks. We’ve gone from check-ups to criminal checks. While doctors are typically associated with healing, it’s time we remember—even in the world of medical professionals, there can be more drama than a prime-time soap opera. Remember to keep your doctors accountable and, for the love of all that’s sacred, ensure your next appointment is purely about your health. Or, you know, you might just end up with a prescription for a very different kind of therapy!

So stay safe, keep your wits about you, and remember—if your doctor pulls out a rubber glove, you should probably ask, “Is this for a check-up or am I auditioning for something?”

The Carabinieri of the Cantù station, at the end of a delicate investigation, arrested a doctor with a practice in the municipality of Novedrate, where he worked as a general practitioner, for sexual violence. The facts that led to the arrest of the professional date back to last September 7 when a 24-year-old, having accessed the doctor’s office, instead of being examined, was allegedly the victim of sexual attention, being groped several times in her private parts.

The doctor’s illicit conduct was also noted and confirmed by other patients, who reported similar “attention” to the military.

The elements collected by the Carabinieri, implemented by the Judicial Authority of Como, led to the issuing of a precautionary custody order with the arrest of the 57-year-old doctor of Lebanese origin, carried out by the Cantù Carabinieri Station on 21 October. On this occasion, a search was carried out at the residence in Cernusco Lombardone (Lecco), during which several IT devices were seized which will be analyzed by an IT consultant appointed by the Como Public Prosecutor’s Office. The doctor was then placed under house arrest at his residence.

Also on 21 October, the Carabinieri of Cermenate reported to the Como prosecutor’s office a citizen from Pavia, living in Mandello del Lario (Lecco), for persecutory acts against his former partner. The man, born in ’91, with a criminal record behind him, had on more and more occasions been responsible for continuous threatening phone calls towards his ex-girlfriend, even going as far as showing up at the Bregnano residence, where he addressed insults and threats to her. , also reiterating them towards the family members who intervened to defend the woman. At the end of all the necessary investigations, the man was tracked down and reported by the Carabinieri of the Cermenate station.
