In a blog post Microsoft 365 Insiderthe company said: “Handoff is an Apple feature that allows you to continue working on content while switching between Apple devices. For example, if you’re working on a PowerPoint presentation on your iPhone and want to switch to your Mac, Handoff makes it possible with a couple of clicks”. The post states that this feature is enabled for anyone who uses Office apps on supported devices with the same account ID Apple. Additionally, any document you want to edit on Mac, iPhone and iPad must be stored in the cloudin OneDrive o SharePoint.

Using this function is very simple. First you need to launch an app like Word, Excel o PowerPoint on one of your supported Apple devices and open the document in the application. Once this is done, simply bring your Mac, iPhone or iPad closer to a device on which you want to continue working on the app. At this point you should be able to view the Dock sul proprio Mac or iPad, the app switcher on your iPhone. Users can make this switch between the various devices by clicking or tapping the selected app, in order to open the same file on other devices too. As mentioned, once opened, users will be able to work on the document and any changes will also be saved in all connected devices.
