The Good, The Bad, and The Oh-So Cheeky: U19 and U15 Football Teams Take Center Stage

Ah, the highs and lows of youth football! The U19 and U15 teams are getting quite the rollercoaster ride this season. One week they’re basking in glory, the next, well… let’s just say they’re *reassessing their life choices*. But fear not! Our U16 and U14 teams have stepped into the spotlight, with at least a teensy bit of joy to report! They say fortune favors the bold, and judging from last week, our younger teams have bolder haircuts than ever!

U19 Update: Fortune’s Fickle Finger

Over in the MLSZ National U19 feature, our teams saw some action that would make even the most resilient soap opera characters raise an eyebrow. Results speak louder than words, so here’s the lowdown:

  • Bp. Honvéd FC–Várda LA: 1–0
  • MTK Budapest–VTK Diósgyőr: 3–0
  • Puskás Akadémia FC–Újpesti TE: 2–1
  • Ferencvárosi TC–Illés Akadémia: 6–0
  • ETO FC Győr–Vasas Kubala Akadémia: 1–0
  • DVSC vs Paksi FC: coming soon on Tuesday!

These results leave the top standings looking precariously competitive:

  3. MTK: 13 points (7 games, 4 wins, 14–7 GD)
  4. Bp. Honvéd: 13 points (7 games, 4 wins, 8–4 GD)
  5. Várda LA: 11 points (7 games, 3 wins, 7–5 GD)

U17 Adventures: Ups and Downs

  • Illés Akademia–Fehérvár FC: 4–0
  • DVSC–Puskás Akadémia FC: 1–1
  • Diósgyőri VTK–Bp. Honvéd FC: 1–3
  • Szeged-Csanád Grosics Academy–Ferencváros TC: 2–1

The standings reflect the expected chaos:

  3. Bp. Honvéd: 14 points (7 games, 4 wins, 14–8 GD)
  4. Várda LA: 5 points (7 games, 1 win, 6–13 GD)

U16 Revelations: Finally a Win!

Speaking of rollercoasters, the U16 team finally broke the shackles with a glorious victory!

  • Várda LA–ETO FC Győr: 3–1

What a relief—it’s about time the football gods smiled upon them! They lost again shortly after, but hey—at least they had a glimpse of victory!

U15 and U14 Strategies: Almost Alright?

In the U15 realm, despite the unflattering scores, we can see things slowly improving!

  • Várda LA–MTK Budapest: 0–3
  • Ferencvárosi TC–ETO FC Győr: 3–0
  • Illés Academy–VTK Diósgyőr: 2–0
  • Vasas Kubala Academy–Zalaegerszegi TE FC: 1–4
  • Gödöllői SK–Puskás Academy FC: 1–3
  • DVSC–Bp. Honvéd FC: 0–0

And, let’s not forget the poor U14 team who faced a double whammy of mixed results but took a *pretty* decent draw:

  • Várda LA–Bp. Honvéd FC: 2–2
  • DVSC–Vasas Kubala Akadémia: 6–3
  • Ferencvárosi TC–Illés Akadémia: 5–2

U15 Rankings:

  3. Diósgyőr: 14 points (7 games)
  4. Várda LA: 1 point (8 games, 0 wins, 5–42 GD)

Conclusion: Summing It All Up

Overall, it’s quite the spectacle, isn’t it? While some teams are sailing smoothly into the sunset, others seem to be battling the waves like a ship with no captain! One thing is for sure, though: while records may ebb and flow, the passion of the game remains unwavering, and that’s what keeps us tuning in week after week. Let’s hope the next round doesn’t make us cringe too much—fingers crossed, eh?

The U19 and U15 teams, which have performed well so far and belong to the top group, were defeated at the weekend, but luck smiled somewhat on the U16 and U14 teams. The former got their first victory in the midweek match against Győr and the U14s also came close against the Honvéd (a scene from the match on our cover photo), but in their case you can be happy that at least they are no longer without a point in the table.
