“We witnessed with great amazement a singular performance in part of a program broadcast by Rai 3, during which delicate events were described by a controversial protagonist in an incomplete and at times inaccurate way, with serious prejudice to the activities underway in the anti-mafia commission”: with these words were expressed the Vice President of the Anti-Mafia Commission of Forza Italia, Mauro D’Attis, the Group Leader in the Anti-Mafia Commission of Forza Italia, Pietro Pittalis, and the members of the Anti-Mafia Commission of Forza Italia, Maurizio Gasparri, Pierantonio Zanettin , Giuseppe Castiglione and Chiara Tenerini. The reference is to the intervention of Roberto Scarpinato in the study of the program conducted by Massimo Giletti “The State of Things”.
“Sen. Scarpinato was able, in solitude, to offer an interpretation of ancient and more recent facts, which does not correspond to what happened and is documented. The documents we are examining demonstrate the opposite of what has been stated. And documents received to the anti-mafia commission and covered by secrecy cannot be liquidated by the interested party by denying their contents. Which go in a completely different direction compared to the version exposed in a completely out of place promotional spot”, they declared. The issue “cannot end here and also requires RAI to provide a truthful representation of the facts. Scarpinato is under suspicion, to be silent for the moment, of having agreed on questions and answers with the former magistrate Natoli, before a hearing of the latter in the anti-mafia commission. With the possibility of the attempted involvement of other members of the commission in this hypothetical maneuver”, they added.
