At the conclusion of discussions with the President of Serbia and the Prime Minister of Hungary, Vitso added: “It is striking that when there is a need for money to continue the war in Ukraine, tens of billions (of euros) are found to continue the killing. And here a question arises: Why, even though illegal immigration poses a great danger to the European Union and Europe, not politically, but in essence, why, in light of this threat, we cannot spend enough money to make the policy of stopping migrants work? Before they reach the borders of the European Union?
Vizzo pointed out that proposals to improve conditions in the countries of origin of illegal immigrants require significant costs.
According to him, when planning the new EU budget, we must insist on allocating a large portion of funds within the European budget to combat illegal immigration.
Yesterday, Tuesday, a summit was held in the Slovak city of Komarno in which Slovak Prime Minister Vičo, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán participated. The discussion during the meeting focused on measures to combat illegal immigration.
Last May, Vitso expressed his hope that the European Parliament would return to considering the migration pact, which is rejected by several countries, including Slovakia. He said that countries should not be forced to accept illegal immigrants and should not be fined for refusing to receive them.
