Pinky Promise: A Light Take on Breast Cancer Awareness at Dr. José Rangel Hospital

The gynecology and obstetrics team, along with their postgraduate residents, orchestrated all sorts of educational and recreational activities. They even extended their expertise to private companies. Yes, folks, they took the message outside the hospital walls! Talk about a community outreach program. It’s like a pop-up event, but instead of artisanal pickles, you’re getting tips on how to check your breasts. Nothing spices up a corporate meeting like swapping presentations on Excel with checklists for self-exams!
There were educational sessions on breast cancer prevention held right at the hospital. According to Dr. Juan Franco, the director of the hospital, they provided information to the community at large. At the Dr. José Rangel Hospital, Pink Month was commemorated with educational and recreational activities, organized by the gynecology and obstetrics service, in the company of the postgraduate residents of this specialty, within the framework of Cancer Awareness Month. Mother.
Among the activities carried out were educational sessions on breast cancer prevention, offered to private companies, and to the community in general at the Hospital facilities. Likewise, postgraduate residents in the area of Gynecology and Obstetrics attended a station to, through different radio programs, send a message of awareness regarding Breast Cancer.
On the other hand, a day of breast examination and cytology taking was carried out, in the care of 24 patients. Doctor Juan Franco, director of the aforementioned health center, classified the day as successful, “from the Rangel Hospital we carry out this type of activities to raise awareness and provide optimal care to all our users, following the health policies of the Bolivarian Government of the President Nicolás Maduro,” he said.
To end the pink week, a great walk was carried out “For Life”, which culminated with a dance therapy, which included the participation of the staff who work in this health center and the general public. “We thank everyone who participated and accompanied us in each of the pink week activities, as every year they are carried out with great enthusiasm to raise awareness about breast cancer,” Franco said.
