The Royals beat BVB 5-2 after being 2-0 down, inflicting their first defeat on the Germans this CL season. Coach Adi Hütter’s AS Monaco celebrated a 5-1 win against Red Star Belgrade. The new league leaders are Aston Villa, who beat Bologna 2-0.
At the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, the Madrid crowd was initially amazed when Dortmund took the lead with a double strike with Marcel Sabitzer in the starting line-up. Lucas Vazquez finally turned the game around in the final phase (83′), before Vinicius Junior put the lid on it with two more goals (86′, 93′).

In Monaco, ex-Salzburg player Takumi Minamino scored a brace for the hosts (20th, 70th). Breel Embolo (45th + 4th), Wilfried Singo (54th) and Maghnes Akliouche (97th) also scored in the Monegasque team’s convincing victory, only missing a penalty caused by Thilo Kehrer. The fouled Cherif Ndiaye scored the Belgrade visitors’ goal from the spot (27′). Hütter’s troops now have seven points, as does Arsenal, who struggled to a 1-0 win against Shakhtar Donetsk. Sporting Lisbon also has seven points after a 2-0 win at Sturm Graz.
Aston Villa remains flawless. The Bayern Munich conquerors also won against Bologna 2-0 with goals from John McGinn (55th) and Jhon Duran (64th). Coach Unai Emery’s team is at the top with nine points and 6-0 goals. For the Italians, Stefan Posch was on the field for the entire game and saw yellow.
Stuttgart’s winning goal came late
VfB Stuttgart achieved a well-deserved 1-0 win at Juventus Turin. After a goal by German team striker Deniz Undav was disallowed for handball (48′) and Enzo Millot missed a penalty (86′), El Bilal Touré scored the winning goal for the Swabians in stoppage time (92′). It was Juve’s first defeat.
The Italian top club AC Milan achieved its first win of the season in the premier class after two defeats, the Rossoneri defeated Club Brugge 3-1. Christian Pulisic with a directly converted corner (34th) and Tijjani Reijnders with two goals (61st, 71st) made it three. At Bruges, who beat Sturm 1-0 three weeks ago, Raphael Onyedika was shown red for a foul on Reijnders (40th). Milan’s Francesco Camarda was the youngest Italian to make his CL debut at the age of 16. A header goal by the teenager was disallowed by VAR, and a narrow offside position prevented the completion of a football fairy tale (88th).
Girona beat Slovan Bratislava 2-0, Kevin Wimmer played through for the Slovaks. Paris St. Germain couldn’t get past a 1-1 draw at home against PSV Eindhoven. Achraf Hakimi secured a point for the French with his goal (55th) after PSV had taken the lead through Noa Lang (34th).
