There’s just over two months left until Christmas and there’s not a hint of cold in sight. After the torrential rains, the storms and unfortunately the dramatic floods, the heat has returned. Lorenzo Tedici, meteorologist of the website ilmeteo.it, confirms an anomalous heat for the period with 24°C in Northern Italy, 25°C also in the Center with peaks of almost 30°C in the South. The thermal anomaly, that is, how much the temperature differs from the climatological reference value of the period, oscillating between +3°C and +4°C with slightly higher values ​​in the Alps and Adriatic regions. On the horizon, for the whole week, we still expect a period above average temperatures, even if there will be clouds and rain.

In detail, further intense rainfall is expected on Sicily in the next few hours, which is waning on the island but at the same time rising against traffic towards the north: it is anomalous, in fact, to see rain rising from the south towards the central regions, but the violent cyclone of the last days has shaken up the entire Mediterranean meteorological picture a bit and this will be the expected scenario. We will therefore have a rainy Tuesday in the morning in Sicily, improving, with rain moving towards Lazio (also Rome) and Campania, locally in Tyrrhenian Calabria and in central-southern Tuscany. In the North, and in particular in Emilia Romagna, the weather will be dry. From the afternoon the phenomena will move northwards, with some showers unfortunately expected again in Emilia Romagna, from Tuscany to Cilento and towards eastern Sardinia where it could be intense during the night.

On Wednesday, in a still mild climate, warm for the period with 26°C for example in Naples, we will find the umbrellas still open especially between Marche and Emilia Romagna and in Sardinia: in the areas affected by yet another recent flood (Emilia Romagna) the quantity of rain expected will fluctuate around 10-20 liters per square meter. On Thursday we will see a timid attempt by the Azores Anticyclone to bring back a pinch of calm but, in this sunnier context, we will still find more rain in the central regions: in Tuscany, Umbria, Marche and Lazio, another gloomy day is expected and humid, in the South however the weather will be sunny again almost everywhere.
