It’s almost that time again; Holland sings Hazes. The event where both André Hazes and Rachel will be present. After his mother ordered him not to use the name André Hazes anymore, the tension between the two became palpable. (see video). The question now is whether this will influence André’s decision to perform at these concerts at all.
In the podcast Strikt Privé, Evert Santegoeds and Jordi Versteegden respond to a question about the Holland Zinges Hazes concerts. “Do you think André Hazes can still avoid concerts now that he is at odds with his mother?” Evert indicates that André can get out of it, but that he will then receive a fine according to a drawn up contract. “Of course, tickets have been sold in your name and there are people who want to demand their money back,” he explains.
The editor-in-chief of Privé remains realistic and knows that there is a good chance that André will still appear on stage. “There was something going on with his mother before and then he was just there,” says Evert. He further indicates that the Ziggo Dome is “very good at” separating family members. Rachel is co-producer of the concert series and will undoubtedly spend most of the time backstage.
Evert is convinced that this will not stop André from singing some of his father’s big hits. “I think he will really disappoint the fans if he is not there and he will just put his mind to zero and do what he has to do.”
Rachel’s summons against her son
According to Evert, the posters with André’s name will most likely help the artist against his mother’s summons. “That is of course a strong point for the defense if that happens later. That they say: “Yes, Mrs. Hazes, you produce Holland sings Hazes and you also call him André Hazes.”
Furthermore, André has indicated on his Instagram that he stands his ground and that he will not call himself André Hazes Junior without the judge getting involved. (see video below). “That causes enormous tensions, but they have happened before,” says Evert.

Holland Sings Hazes: A Family Affair with Drama
It’s almost that time again; Holland sings Hazes! An annual celebration that promises heartwarming anthems, star-studded performances, and enough family drama to rival an episode of Scooby-Doo. This year, both André Hazes and his mother, Rachel, are expected to attend. However, after a rather public maternal decree to disown the name “André Hazes,” the family tension is thicker than a Dutch pancake.
Now, the burning question on everyone’s lips is whether this familial feud will prompt André to bail on performing at these concerts. I mean, who could blame him? Having to belt out ballads while side-eyeing your own mum sounds like a tricky balancing act — it’s like walking a tightrope made of guitar strings! 🎸
A Podcast Tension Teaser
In the “Strikt Privé” podcast, Evert Santegoeds and Jordi Versteegden tackled the sticky question of whether André can escape his performance commitments. According to Evert, sure, André can get out of it! But spoiler alert: he’s in for a fine. “Of course, tickets have been sold in your name, and there are people just itching to get their pennies back,” he quipped. So basically, it’s a classic case of ‘you can run, but you can’t hide’ unless you fancy paying for the privilege.
Stage Families and Backstage Mayhem
Reality check incoming! Evert remains convinced that when it comes to family squabbles, André will inevitably show up on stage. “There was something going on with his mother before and then he was just there,” he reminded listeners, as if the Ziggo Dome had a magic forcefield separating feuding family members. If only family gatherings were that easy!
Will He or Won’t He?
According to Evert, the audience can expect André to perform some of his father’s greatest hits, despite the familial tug-of-war. “He’d really disappoint fans if he ultimately bows out,” he asserted. “He’ll just put his mind to zero and do what he must.” And let’s be real; nothing says ‘family dysfunction’ like belting out ‘Bloed, Zweet en Tranen’ while your family’s in the audience armed with silent judgments!
Mommy’s Legal Gambit
Now, about Rachel’s legal jabs at her son. Evert cleverly pointed out that the promotional posters featuring Andrés’ name could serve as a powerful defense should the matter end up in court. Talk about a legal loophole that practically has a “Welcome” sign hanging over it! It’s the only trial where you might get called out for taking a little too long at the snack bar.
André’s Stand and Instagram Stance
Adding fuel to the fire, André took to Instagram to declare he’s not going down without a fight. He firmly stated he wouldn’t conform to being André Hazes Junior unless the court gets involved. That’s quite the stand for a lad at an age when most are simply trying to avoid chores or wearing matching socks!
In summary, the feet-tapping festivities at Holland Sings Hazes are going to be more than just a night of music. With enough drama to fill an entire season of reality television, André, Rachel, and their family saga promise to keep fans on the edge of their seats. Whether they sing together or continue the passive-aggressive family banter from backstage, one thing is certain: it’ll be anything but dull!
And so, dear readers, gear up for a night that promises to be as unpredictable as the Dutch weather. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or simply a spectator to the Hazes family drama, this is one event you won’t want to miss!
