In the report on President Jokowi’s communication journey over the last decade released by Govcom Insights, it is stated that over the past decade, President Jokowi’s communication has not only focused on conveying policies, but also building closeness with the people through social media.
The report illustrates how Jokowi’s communication strategy, as well as his vision for action, succeeded in forming a strong relationship between government and society, while utilizing a more inclusive and technology-based approach.

“President Jokowi has created many effective communication practices, especially in utilizing social media. People’s involvement is getting stronger, but there are still many challenges that must be overcome,” said Ani Natalia, Founder of Govcom in her statement, Sunday (20/10).
Ani said that in the future, future government communications need to be more structured, adaptive and responsive to technological changes.
Additionally, the report also highlights challenges in use buzzer And influencer which is excessive. Although effective in creating exposure on social media, this approach often does not reach the wider community directly, so the government’s message does not reach the grassroots.
