THE commander of the Israeli military’s 401st Armored Brigade was killed in an attack by Palestinian resistance fighters in the northern Gaza Strip. This has been confirmed by the Israeli armed forces.
Ehsan Daqsa was reportedly killed after his tank was hit by an explosive device in the city of Jabalia, Gaza, on Sunday (20/10) local time, according to the Israeli military.
According to Israeli media, Daqsa was one of the most senior officers killed in fighting in Gaza.
He is from the Druze town of Daliyat al-Karmel, and took command of the 401st Brigade in June.
Israeli regime media also reported that the commanders of the 162nd Division and 52nd Division of the Israeli occupation forces were caught in a large-scale ambush in Jabalia. Initial reports indicated that they were also killed.
Palestinian resistance fighters have been fighting Israel since the start of Israel’s war on Gaza last October.
