Asuka: “My knee recovery is going well, please wait for my return”

The Remarkable Journey of Asuka: Knee Surgery and the Road to Recovery

Asuka, the self-proclaimed Empress of Tomorrow, has certainly given us a masterclass in perseverance—but at what cost? Her relentless dedication to her craft inside the WWE ring has come back to haunt her, leading to an unfortunate knee surgery. The wrestling world has held its breath as this warrior battles back to health. And just when you thought the story couldn’t get any more heart-wrenching, let’s dig into the details!

Asuka’s Rehabilitation Journey

So, how has our beloved Asuka been coping? Well, grab your tissues, because it’s a bit of a tearjerker. In her recent YouTube update, our favorite high-kicking diva opened up about her recovery journey. After the commendable decision to step away from the spotlight to focus on healing, she’s been hard at work. You could say she’s traded the ring for… well, a rehabilitation center!

Despite hitting a rough patch looking for a decent rehab center—because let’s face it, it’s not like Japan is short on fancy hospitals—she eventually hooked up with the legendary Dr. Itami from Takatsuki Red Cross Hospital. And thank goodness for that connection; otherwise, she might have been stuck at home watching reruns of “The Office.” And I thought I had trouble finding a good restaurant after moving to a new city!

“It’s been a while. In July this year there were WWE shows in Osaka and Tokyo. I stayed in Osaka for about two weeks. At that time I needed to rehabilitate my knee. However, I was having trouble figuring out where I could do it…” she said, sounding like we all do when we’re trying to find a decent Wi-Fi signal at Starbucks. Hopefully, she didn’t bring her wrestling persona to the hospital—because ninja skills probably won’t help during physical therapy!

Asuka continued, describing her pathetic walking skills after the operation, and let’s just say, she was “walking strangely.” I mean, who could blame her? That’s a lot of surgery and a knee that’s probably done its share of heavy lifting! “I think Professor Itami was probably surprised to see me walking in such a strange way,” she noted, before revealing her doctor helped correct her gait. Now there’s a plot twist: rehabilitating the Empress of Tomorrow’s ability to *actually* walk! It’s like watching a baby fawn take its first steps—adorably awkward!

But don’t count out Asuka just yet! She’s made remarkable strides in just two weeks, declaring, “I noticed a great improvement in my knee…” so much that she’s even back in the pool for rehabilitation. That’s right, folks, our girl might be back in the ring sooner than you can say, “WWE Backlash!” Although, let’s be honest, it will take more than a couple of laps in the pool to get her back to wrestling shape.

The Future Awaits

Asuka’s last bout was at WWE Backlash, where she teamed up with Kairi Sane for a fierce showdown against Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair. Unfortunately, the sad news is that she’s not expected to return to the ring this year, but as with all great comebacks, there’s hope! You know how wrestlers are—resilience runs in the ring, or should I say, through their veins!

So, wrestling fans, let’s keep our fingers crossed and our chants ready! Let’s send good vibes to Asuka as she undertakes her rehab comeback tour. And I daresay, if anyone can turn their misfortune into a breathtaking return, it’s certainly our Empress! Those knee muscles better be ready because, like my Aunt Margie during karaoke night—once she’s back, she’s not holding back!

In conclusion, while the journey has been tough, Asuka’s spirituality, the great medical staff, and, dare I say, a sprinkle of wrestling magic will see her through this difficult time. We’ll be here, eagerly waiting to see her unleash her inner warrior in the ring once more. Until then, keep the aspartame out of your energy drinks, folks, and remember—don’t walk like Asuka post-surgery!

The relentless work of Asuka in the ring has taken its toll on her health, recently leading her to undergo knee surgery.

Despite this obstacle, she has actively focused on her rehabilitation and has now confirmed the progress in her recovery during her break. Previously, Asuka had shared the decision to step away from television commitments in WWE to focus on recovering from a persistent knee problem. This problem became evident a few months ago during a SmackDown segment, when Asuka she had been seen limping. The Empress Of Tomorrow has undergone knee surgery and has undertaken a rigorous rehabilitation process, with the aim of returning to the ring as soon as possible.

Asuka shares her knee rehabilitation progress following surgery

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Asuka revealed that the knee rehabilitation is progressing well. He participated in the shows of WWE in Osaka and Tokyo in July and spent about two weeks in Osaka to focus on recovery. At first, he had difficulty finding a good rehabilitation center in Japan. Luckily, a Tampa Bay Rays athletic trainer connected her with Dr. Itami at Takatsuki Red Cross Hospital:

“It’s been a while. In July this year there were WWE shows in Osaka and Tokyo. I stayed in Osaka for about two weeks. At that time I needed to rehabilitate my knee. However, I was having trouble figuring out where I could do it. I know a strength coach for the MLB Tampa Bay Rays. I told him that if there was a doctor in Japan who could support my rehabilitation, I would like him to introduce him to me.

He introduced me to Dr. Itami from Takatsuki Red Cross Hospital in Osaka. I’d like to show you a little bit of what my rehab was like during that time. I had surgery in June. A month after the surgery, I went to Osaka. Before going to Osaka, I was doing rehab in America. I went to Osaka just when I had just stopped using the cane. At that time, I still felt pain and walked very strangely. The American physiotherapist told me that I needed to correct the way I walked. Dr. Itami from Takatsuki Red Cross Hospital was very kind. He understood my situation and decided to help me. I think Professor Itami was probably surprised to see me walking in such a strange way. Dr. Itami’s instructions and rehabilitation have helped me improve my walking day after day. When first diagnosed, I was told I had forgotten how to walk.

I thought it couldn’t be true. But… it seems like I really forgot how to walk. I had never been to Takatsuki City. I just had the image that it was near Kyoto. It seems like a place famous for its clean air. It had been a while since I had been to a hospital in Japan, but everyone was so kind.

Dr. Itami, of course, Dr. Hamada, the other doctors, the front desk staff, everyone was kind and friendly. I realized that in Japanese hospitals everyone is so kind and caring. I felt that, deep down, Japan is a really good place. I noticed a great improvement in my knee after just two weeks in Japan. After that, I returned to America. The same doctor who had previously operated on my shoulder also operated on my knee. My recovery is going very well. Please wait for my return. Now I’m going to the pool for knee rehabilitation.”

Asuka he last fought at WWE Backlashpaired with Kairi Sane against Jade Cargill e Bianca Belair. We also reported that he is not expected to return to the ring this year. However, fans continue to hope that Asuka recover sooner than expected and go back to doing what you love most.
