McDonald’s, one of the most iconic American companies, has entered the presidential campaign, a few days before the vote on November 5th. Republican candidate Donald Trump “dragged” the famous fast food chain into the political arena. The tycoon, in fact, during his Sunday stop in the key state of Pennsylvania, stopped at one of the chain’s outlets and wore a fry worker’s apron. “How much do they pay me? Not much, I want more money…”, joked the former president, delivering food to customers from the restaurant’s drive-thru window, which was closed for the event. “I always wanted to work at McDonald’s, but I never did. I’m running against someone who said he did, but that turned out to be a totally false story,” he said again. The social contents, which immortalized some key moments of the day, attracted the attention of numerous users.
In just twelve hours, the videos posted on social media totaled 47M views, 7.8M likes, 90K comments and 13% engagement. Amazing numbers that confirm how the tycoon always manages to find the strategy to get straight to the souls of future voters. Trump chose to be immortalized behind the fryer, the same job that his opponent Kamala Harris said on several occasions she did when she was young. In particular, a Democratic campaign official told CNN, the current vice president’s summer employment dates back to 1983, in a McDonald’s in Alameda, California, during the period in which he was studying at Howard University in Washington. Harris’ employment at the fast food chain became one of the catchphrases of Trump’s campaign.
