Director National Tsunami Center Karachi Amir Haideralghari has said that when and where the earthquake will occur cannot be predicted ahead of time.
The Seismological Research Institute Solar System Geometry Survey (SSGS) has predicted an earthquake in the Chaman (Baluchistan) fault line in the next two days.
According to the international organization, tremors have been recorded in the underground fault line of Chaman, due to which a powerful earthquake may occur in the next 2 days, the magnitude of which may be 6 or more on the Richter scale.
The SSGS has identified the Chaman fault line as a region of high potential seismic activity.
In the context of the prediction of earthquake in Pakistan by the international organization, the director of National Tsunami Center Karachi, Amir Hyder Laghari, says that it is not possible to predict when and where the earthquake will occur. Extending from Pakistan to the northern part of Pakistan, earthquakes can occur at any point in these boundary lines which is not possible to predict.
Amir Hyder Laghari says that in 1892, an earthquake of magnitude 9 to 10 occurred on the Chaman fault line, while in 1935, a severe earthquake occurred in the Chaltan range, in which thousands of people were killed.
