“Greece’s positions on the Cyprus issue are identical to those of Cyprus”

Maria Syregela, secretary of the Political Committee of the ND and a member of parliament stated that “Greece’s positions on the Cyprus issue have always been identical with those of Cyprus”.

And he added that “we welcome the informal dialogue that has opened between Cyprus and Turkey. We are in favor of his decisions UN and it is a given, of course, that in no case is there a question of two states”.

The secretary of the ND Political Committee also commented on Greece’s dialogue with Turkey, pointing out that “there has been dialogue lately, but the differences we have with the neighboring country remain”.

In particular, according to iefimerida, Ms. Syringela he emphasized that “anyone who has left the government and has spoken about the Greek-Turkish language has never mentioned anything against the sovereign rights of our country”.

Then the secretary of the ND Political Committee, referring to the issue of immigration, emphasized that “We implement an immigration policy that is both strict and fair, always within the framework of international conventions.

If someone applies for asylum and is entitled to it, they will be able to proceed, otherwise, as the prime minister said, if they are not entitled to it, they will leave the country. This means a strict immigration policy in practice and of course in order for it to be more than strict and fair, all the member states of the European Union must shoulder the burden.”
