Thousands of migrants left in a caravan from Mexico to the United States.

Thousands of migrants, mostly Venezuelans who left their country due to the electoral crisis, left this Sunday in a new caravan called ‘The Child’, from the southern border of Mexico, bound for the United States.

The massive contingent of foreigners requested humanitarian aid from the Mexican Government for the journey they have undertaken in search of reaching the border with the United States.

In the group, children and women are seen walking and pushing strollers, under heavy rain that accompanies their journey along federal highway 200 that will take them to Mexico City.

The young Venezuelan David Josué García Chirino, 18, shared his desire to be able to study in the North American country, bring his family and offer him a different life.

“It has been a little hard, but I have the faith to move forward to go to the United States because it is the only country in which we have the possibility of having a job that can help us move forward,” García commented.

For almost two months, García left Venezuela after the conflict caused by the presidential elections of last July 28, and shared that his trip has consisted of walking alone and traveling by bus for days, and this morning, he joined the contingent from the south door.

Third migrant caravan in the Sheinbaum era

This is the third largest caravan that has left Mexico during the Government of Claudia Sheinbaum.

Migrants argue that their main reason for walking is due to the lack of employment and their desire to go to the United States.

Gilberto Herrero Mejía, another migrant from Venezuela, denounced that in his country the situation is critical and the money is not enough, because in his case, he was dedicated to driving a bus with a salary of 10 to 15 dollars, which was insufficient to survive.

He added that he has now decided to be able to reunite with his relatives in the United States to find work and support his family.

“That they help us, that they give us support because we want to behave well, we go with the same mind of not doing bad things, but we are going to work, without taking away anyone’s job there is work for everyone, I believe, United States It is a fairly large country, which helps us if it is not angry with Latinos,” Herrero explained.
