Founded in 1979 under the identity of JM, Freedom expression, which since 2018, has set itself the primary mission of creating and optimizing awareness among the youngest to strengthen their open-mindedness academically. The partnership with Maurel&Prom gives an additional dimension to this school of physical, mental and spiritual well-being for the populations of Port-gentil, with the recent introduction of disciplines of musical and artistic expression.
Located in the heart of downtown Port-gentil, Freedom expression is a school specializing in the learning and promotion of conventional dances or academic dances, in particular classical dances, modern jazz and contemporary dances.
Enjoying a sufficiently established reputation in the economic capital, Freedom expression is gaining in volume and increasing its capacity, today welcoming nearly three hundred (300) full-time students, informs the Director of the center, Dominique Ndong, not without pride for resilience and investment deployed.
“The School is a broth of cultures with students of all colors, white and black, from all socio-professional categories, followed by seven professional supervisors, all sections combined, dance and music, among the best in the place in their respective disciplines »he said.
The relaxed atmosphere within the school, worthy of a well-being center, alternates at an uninterrupted rhythm different dance workshops through striking choreographies, performed in step, by both children and young people from the age of 4 years, as in adults, up to 60 years.
“Freedom expression is also a center for preparing candidates for state exams in sports and artistic disciplines. And for adults, the exercises are geared towards sports maintenance, cardio strengthening, stretching and relaxation, as well as well-being. All this, at reasonable costs and within the reach of modest incomes”specifies the Director of the center, Dominique Ndong.
The music workshops are more oriented towards practice, through the handling of different musical instruments, maintenance and voice work; not without placing a point of honor on the study and mastery of musical notes, the famous music theory. To this end, the School is opening rehearsal and coaching sessions for the benefit of music professionals for capacity building, we learned.
As part of its CSR (social and environmental responsibility) policy, Maurel&Prom, an oil exploitation company operating in the Canton Lacs du Sud region, near Lambaréné (center), is concerned about the well-being of its employees and more generally concerned by the health of the populations of Port-gentil, is investing in improving the structural and infrastructural framework of the center.
