New sex scandal in Bolivia

LA PAZ (EFE).— The president of Bolivia, Luis Arce, was denounced yesterday by a woman who says she was a victim of harassment and abuse of power by the president, in exchange, supposedly, for being named vice minister of Sports, something that finally it didn’t happen.

The woman, identified as Yessica VC, made the complaint at the headquarters of the Bolivian Legislature, together with deputy Héctor Arce Rodríguez, who belongs to the wing of the government Movement towards Socialism (MAS) related to former president Evo Morales and leader of the ruling party.

According to her complaint, three years ago she had a relationship for six months with President Arce in exchange, supposedly, for being named Vice Minister of Sports.

The woman claimed that she had meetings with the president at the Government House in La Paz and in other places, and maintained that she even became pregnant and that she lost her child after suffering a motorcycle accident.

“Six victims”

“We are six victims who he (Luis Arce) has silenced with work and has abused power, harassed me and threatened me,” he stated.

For his part, Congressman Arce described the complaint as unacceptable and accused the president of having “used his status as president,” in addition to “State resources and assets, State vehicles, offices of the Casa Grande del Pueblo” to “play with the feeling of the companion.”
